Arriving at the door of the hospital room, Evelyn hesitated to push the door open.
Her heart was filled with worry and torment.
This accident was entirely Iris Lockwood taking the blame for her, and Evelyn hardly knew how to face Iris.
After a long while, Evelyn gathered her courage and opened the door.
Inside the room, Iris Lockwood’s voice came out as the door opened slightly.

Iris continued munching the apple, muttering, "Why so early? Can’t it wait after I’ve eaten? I’m so hungry."
Yara sighed, "How about Iris, we go buy your favorite boiled fish?"
Iris cheered excitedly, "Yay!"
Yara chuckled, got up, and called Evelyn, "Let’s go. Have you had breakfast?"
Evelyn pursed her lips, got up, ruffled Iris’s hair, and left with Yara.
As they exited the hospital room and entered the elevator, Evelyn couldn’t help but ask, "Is Iris...?"
"That’s how she was when she woke up, was a bit dazed when she saw me, then smiled," Yara said softly, "I cried when I saw her awake, and she comforted me instead, telling me not to be sad."
Evelyn felt like something was stuck in her throat, unable to swallow or speak, feeling terribly uncomfortable.
"Whether Iris is truly fine or pretending, she probably doesn’t want us to worry and feel guilty," Yara said with a gentle smile at Evelyn, "So let’s honor her intentions."
Evelyn held back her tears and nodded heavily, "You’re right."
After saying this, she vaguely recalled how Iris and she used to be at odds with each other.
Who would have thought back then that Iris would become , thinking of others and not wanting those around her to worry?
But the more she is , the more painful Evelyn feels.
She and Iris were always each other’s most important family.
But she failed to protect her.
Evelyn’s gaze gradually became determined.

"Yvette Warren will be coming to the Sinclair Family this weekend," Evelyn said, gritting her teeth slightly, "By then, I will agree... to cooperate with her."
