After a short while, Gerson managed to shake off Chelsea's defenders!
Near the end line, he made a decisive cross.
The ball traced a beautiful arc through the air and landed right in front of Chelsea's goal.
This time, Roma's towering center forward, Dzeko, leapt up and beat Gary Cahill to the ball.
With his height advantage, Dzeko didn't seem fazed by Cahill at all.
In this duel, Dzeko was the clear winner.
The next second, Dzeko sent a powerful header toward the goal.
In a flash, the ball was on its way to the net guarded by Courtois.
It was a brilliant header!
Even though Chelsea's defender Gary Cahill did his best, Dzeko's skill was just too much for him.
With Chelsea having scored just five minutes earlier, Roma, playing as the away team, managed to equalize.
The two teams were now back on level ground.
This turn of events left the Chelsea fans in the Stamford Bridge stands furious.
They couldn't believe what they were seeing.
And of course, Chelsea's head coach, Mr. Conte, was visibly disappointed.
He stormed to the sideline and shouted at his defenders, "What kind of defense was that?!"
"Stay sharp! We haven't won this game yet!"
"Wake up, all of you! If you don't want to play, you can come off!"
After the re-kick, it wasn't long before Chelsea began organizing another attack.
The playmaker was once again Fabregas.
As Chelsea's midfield maestro, Cesc Fabregas's skill was unquestionable.
Though he had come from Barcelona, his technique remained world-class.
Fabregas had also fully adjusted to Coach Conte's style of play.
This time, near the center circle, Fabregas received the ball and began advancing with it.
Seeing this, Roma's defenders closed in immediately, not giving Fabregas any space.
Suddenly, Gonalons and Strootman appeared in front of him, determined to block his path.
Their intent was clear: stop Fabregas at all costs.
But Fabregas had no plans to dribble past them—he wasn't the type to go for solo breakthroughs.
Fabregas preferred being the field commander, orchestrating plays for others.
And now, he saw his opportunity.
Drawing the attention of the two defenders, he quickly realized the time was right.
With a swift pass, he sent the ball to Azpilicueta on the right.
Although Azpilicueta was playing as a defender tonight, if Chelsea saw an opening, he was always ready to join the attack.
And that's exactly what he did.
Receiving the ball, Azpilicueta immediately sent a long pass forward.
Once again, the ball traced a perfect arc through the air.
