The fans in the stadium, sensing the inevitability of the result, began leaving their seats.
The remaining 20 minutes of the match were uneventful, with Chelsea comfortably controlling possession and seeing out the game.
When the final whistle blew, the score remained 4–1.
After suffering a disappointing loss in their previous match, Chelsea had emphatically regained their form.
Chelsea's resilience was evident. When this team played seriously, they were a force to be reckoned with, feared by any opponent.
