Xia Ning: “…”
Spinning around, she punched her lightly in the chest and feigned a vexed tone. “Is that all you can think of all day?!” Was last night not enough?
Taking her hand in his, Qiao Yu chuckled. “What do you mean? I only want to show you around the city.”
Xia Ning was speechless. She threw a dirty look at Qiao Yu when she saw the teasing look on his face and she turned to leave, but he stopped her first.
“There, there. Honey, I’m sorry. Please don’t be mad at me!” Holding Xia Ning from behind, Qiao Yu nibbed at her ear. “I just don’t want to go back so soon.”
“But why?” Xia Ning snorted.
“What do you think?” Qiao Yu bit her neck.
“Qiao Yu, you’re possessed!” Xia Ning said in resignation. The guy was getting more and more like a rogue. She couldn’t believe it.
Qiao Yu chuckled. “That’s right. I’ve been possessed by a hungry ghost and I want to eat you up as soon as I set my eyes on you.”
Xia Ning didn’t know what to say. She could feel the heat of her cheeks. Where did he learn all those cheesy pickup lines? What was he supposed to be? Some domineering CEO character?
They cuddled for a while before Xia Ning nudged at Qiao Yu. “We have to leave now or it will get dark. I miss Enoch.”
“Your son is the only one you ever think of!” Qiao Yu sounded displeased. “I told you. Don’t think of other men!”
Xia Ning didn’t know what to say. She couldn’t help but squeezed his cheeks. “How can you be so childish?”
Qiao Yu frowned. “No, I’m not! You’re my wife!”
“Who’s your wife!” Xia Ning grunted a little. She then pushed him away, took out her suitcase, and put her folded clothes in it.
Qiao Yu frowned as he looked down at her. He went to her side and whispered. “Let’s get married again, Xia Ning!” He felt unappreciated this way, like a secret lover.
Xia Ning acted as if she hadn’t heard anything. She zipped the suitcase up and was going to lift it when a pair of big hands got to it first.
“I mean it.” Xia Ning looked into Xia Ning’s eyes. “I didn’t like it when I divorced you, but I didn’t know well enough…”
“Can we talk about this some other day?” Xia Ning darted a glance at Qiao Yu, then turned to pack her smaller bag.
Watching Xia Ning from behind, Qiao Yu nodded. “Ok!”
He could understand her hesitation. After all, their marriage didn’t end well the first time. He needed to show her that she could trust him.
After leaving the hotel, Qiao Yu and Xia Ning drove straight back to S City.
The Qiao family house had been quiet for a few days when Xia Ning was away. Now that Xia Ning and Qiao Yu were back together, all was bustling again.
“Mummy, Mummy, gimme a hug!” Seeing Xia Ning come in, Enoch ran over and raised his hands.
Xia Ning handed her bag to Qiao Yu, who was behind her, and picked Enoch up with a smile. “Sure! Come to Mummy!”
Resting in Xia Ning’s arms, Enoch complained. “Mummy, I’ll tell you a secret. Daddy didn’t come home last night and Grandma says it’s wrong to do that. You have to spank him!”
At the thought of being with Qiao Yu the previous night and the things they did in that king-sized hotel bed… Qiao Yu looked embarrassed.
“Hey, I’ve only just gotten back!” Qiao Yu walked in with the suitcase and darted a glance at Enoch. “Too bad. Your mum knows where I was yesterday.”
Enoch snorted, then turned to Xia Ning. “Mummy, where did Daddy go yesterday?”
