In the living room, Gao Lihua looked at Xia Ning with anger. “You’re threatening me!” She then turned to Gao Wanhua. “Sister, are you going to ignore this?!”
“Aren’t you a nosy person?” Gao Wanhua looked at Gao Lihua. “If Xia Ning did not say it out loud, I would say she was not daring enough. Her husband is being tricked by others and she still did not say anything. If it’s like that, then she should not be my daughter-in-law.” Seeing the two venting their anger together, Gao Lihua was so mad that her body was shaking. She pointed to Gao Wanhua and Xia Ning. “You two, well done!” She grabbed her bag on the couch and left directly.
Seeing Gao Lihua’s back, Xia Ning frowned. They were all mothers so why were they so different?!
Because of Gao Wanhua and Shen Tianlang, she did not want to target Gao Lihua at all. But she pushed another woman into Qiao Yu’s arms.
No matter if she and Qiao Yu were married or not, Qiao Yu was her man now. So her man was definitely not someone that anyone could touch.
Remembering her bad attitude when she was talking to Gao Lihua just now, Xia Ning felt there was a need to apologize to Gao Wanhua. After all, she was her real sister. She did not take her face into consideration when she said those words.
However, her gaze landed on a shadow at the door. She was caught by surprise and turned around. She saw Qiao Yu standing at the door. Qiao Yu noticed her gaze and walked in.
Gao Wanhua looked at Qiao Yu and smiled slightly. “Why are you back so early?”
“I completed my work for today so I came back earlier.” Qiao Yu answered but his eyes fell onto Xia Ning. There was some emotion in his eyes. “Aunt left in anger just now.” The words were directed at Gao Wanhua.
Gao Wanhua sighed. “Your aunt is here for the Shen family. I will ask your grandfather to talk to her later. She is spoiled.”
“Ok,” Qiao Yu answered. He then turned to Xia Ning and asked, “Did everything go well today?”
“Yes.” Xia Ning nodded. “I will take all my shares back in the next two days.” She looked down and avoided his eyes instinctively. She could feel some other emotion in his eyes when he looked at her.
Did he just come back or was he already at the door? If he had already reached the door, did he hear what she just said?
Gao Wanhua darted a look at Qiao Yu and Xia Ning and smiled slightly. She went back to her room to see Enoch who was asleep. She should leave the couple alone.
Seeing that Gao Wanhua had left, Xia Ning asked, “You must be tired. You should get changed first.” She turned around and wanted to leave. Suddenly, her arm was held. Before she could react, she was dragged towards the staircase.
