Recalling the moment of despair yesterday, the image in her mind was of Mu Xingfeng. She also thought of the heartless words she had once said to him. An Ran suddenly wanted to see Mu Xingfeng, to thank him and to apologize.
Hearing footsteps outside the door, she knew Lin Junyang had gotten up.
An Ran walked out of the bedroom and saw Lin Junyang drinking water. After a long internal struggle, she finally spoke up, "Um, I wanted to ask, when will Mu Xingfeng be back?"
Although Lin Junyang had his back to An Ran, he sensed her presence the moment she came out. He knew the little rabbit was staring at his back, and he could feel her inner struggle.
But he didn’t want to turn around. To be honest, it was really hard for him to deal with this situation right now. On one hand, his beloved sister had finally managed to apply for and go on a mission with Boss Mu, and he hoped she might spark something with Boss Mu during this mission to fulfill her wishes.
On the other hand, he felt that Boss Mu had an unusual interest in this little rabbit. Judging from how easily the little rabbit ran to Mu Xingfeng’s bedroom to fetch his clothes yesterday, it was clear that when they were together, she often wore Boss’s clothes.
You have to know that Boss has a mild case of cleanliness obsession, especially towards women, treating them almost like insulators. He had personally seen a socialite in Imperial City who admired Mu Xingfeng try to get close to him at a wine party by pretending to fall into Mu Xingfeng’s arms, only for Mu Xingfeng to dodge. When the woman wouldn’t give up and grabbed Mu Xingfeng’s arm, Mu Xingfeng had taken off his entire shirt and had it discarded by a nearby waiter.
He vividly remembered the socialite’s face, an expression of utter tragedy.
And the little rabbit could wear Boss’s clothes so casually, only indicating that Boss was serious about her.

Hearing An Ran’s question, Lin Junyang put down the water cup, ran his hand through his short hair, and turned around, "Well... actually, Boss’s mission is classified. As for when he’ll be back, I really don’t know."
"Oh," An Ran nodded, a bit disappointed, but she understood. Most matters in the military are likely to be confidential.
"You haven’t eaten yet, have you? I’ll make something to eat."
Knowing that Lin Junyang was here mainly because of her, probably also worried she might do something rash, An Ran felt a bit guilty seeing that he hadn’t stepped out of the room.
Opening the fridge, most of the food was expired, only some dried noodles and a couple of well-packaged sausages were still edible.
An Ran cooked some noodles, paired them with sausage slices, and made two bowls of hot noodle soup.
Lin Junyang smelled the fragrance and walked into the kitchen to see An Ran serving the noodles.
"Little rabbit, I didn’t expect your cooking skills to be this good. Just the smell of this noodles makes me so hungry," he said, grinning as he picked up a bowl.
"Be careful, it’s hot," An Ran cautioned, seeing him already seated at the dining table and starting to eat.
"I’m heading back to school later. Do you need to return to the base?" An Ran asked, sitting across from Lin Junyang.
