Passersby gave her strange looks until the singing stopped, after which An Ruo wiped away her tears and turned to leave.

When she got home, An Ruo hastened to apply ice to her eyes to reduce the swelling before Kangkang came back.
With nothing else to do, she went to the kitchen to cook. Perhaps because she was distracted, she unknowingly made several dishes, each one three times what she and Kangkang would normally eat in one meal.
Just as she set the food on the table, she heard the doorbell ring.
It was Tang Yuchen bringing Kangkang over.
She opened the door, and as they walked in, they immediately smelled the aroma of the food.
"Mom, you made so much food," Kangkang said, surprised, as he looked toward the dining table.
Tang Yuchen smiled slightly, "I’m quite hungry, we should be able to finish all these dishes."
An Ruo casually replied, "Then let’s eat."
She turned to fetch bowls and chopsticks from the kitchen; the man glanced at her and felt that she was somewhat off today.
During the meal, An Ruo was also quite quiet. She didn’t show any emotions, but no matter how much she tried to hide it, she couldn’t remain completely calm.
Tang Yuchen wanted to ask her several times what was wrong, but the words never left his mouth.
His eyes were about to dig into his food when his gaze suddenly fell on her left hand, sparking a realization in his mind.
Her ring was missing!
He was certain he wasn’t mistaken; the ring he had always struggled to look directly at was gone.
Was it temporarily put away to avoid getting dirty, or was it lost, or perhaps...
The man’s heart pounded violently. He was nervous and desperately wanted to know why the ring was no longer on her finger.
"Dad, what’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?" the little guy asked, noticing his unusual behavior.
Tang Yuchen came to his senses and shook his head with a smile, "It’s nothing, Daddy just remembered something suddenly."
"Well, it’s something about work, you wouldn’t understand."
An Ruo glanced at him, meeting his gaze. She lowered her eyes and continued to eat; his gaze involuntarily fell on her left hand again.
He really, really wanted to know why she had taken off the ring.
After the meal, Tang Yuchen insisted on washing the dishes. An Ruo, not in the mood to argue, let him. When he came out after washing the dishes, he only saw Kangkang sitting in the living room playing video games.
"Kangkang, where’s Mom?"
"Mom is in the bedroom."
The man hesitated before heading toward her bedroom.
An Ruo was folding clothes in the bedroom. Hearing the door open, she looked up to see Tang Yuchen entering.
"Is there something you need?" she asked him coolly.
Tang Yuchen closed the door behind him with his backhand, walked over to her, and stood with his hands on his hips.
A puzzled look appeared on An Ruo’s face, "What exactly do you want?"
Tang Yuchen pursed his lips and asked in a deep voice, "Have you and Mo Hua decided when you are going to get married?"
"Don’t worry about why, just answer my question," he said, his tone slightly urgent.
An Ruo lowered her gaze and continued to organize her clothes, with no intention of answering him.
To him, her silence meant that she and Mo Hua had no plans to get married.
His heart raced faster, it was like being on a roller coaster, soaring high. He was either going to crash hard from this height or shoot straight into the sky.
