The next morning, it was mealtime, but Leng Yan was nowhere to be seen. Xia Nuo went to call him, knocked on the door for a long time, yet no response, and she thought he might have gone out.
In the afternoon, she went again to find him, still no one came to open the door for her.

The sound wasn’t loud, but she heard it very clearly, someone was inside the house.
“Leng Yan, you’re home, right? What’s up with you staying silent all day when I’ve been looking for you?”
There was no movement again inside, and Xia Nuo thought, could he be sick?
“Leng Yan, hurry and open the door. Are you sick?”
