Sect Leader Qing opened his mouth, unsure of what to say.
Should he thank Master Lian for just troubling him a bit?
Was this really Master Lian he knew?
Maybe he climbed the mountain wrong today.
"If there’s nothing else, you may leave," Master Lian said, dismissing him before disappearing and his white figure blending into the snowy world.
The cold wind, mixed with snow, blew, chilling Sect Leader Qing to the bone.
Master Lian had changed.
He had a feeling that his future days would be quite difficult.
The next morning, Amalia and Kenny Lin left Obsidian City and passed through the large city they had initially entered, which was bustling with human cultivators.
"Amalia, aren’t you and Junior Uncle Master planning to buy or sell anything?" Renshu Chang asked, noticing their lack of interest and movement.
Usually, cultivators who made some gains on the devil battlefield would sell off their unneeded items here and exchange them for something useful.
This had been clearly explained to them when they first arrived here.
The two of them had looted a Level 9 Devil City, so they should have plenty of items they couldn’t use.
"Not for now," Amalia replied.
She knew what Senior Brother Chang was referring to.
Most of the items they didn’t need had been absorbed by Kenny Lin and converted into energy for nurturing the Yin-Yang Pearl.
However, despite having so many items, it was just a drop in the bucket, and they no longer had anything left to exchange.
Renshu Chang didn’t press further.
If they weren’t going to trade, they would head straight back to the Green Lotus Sect.
"Oh, Senior Brother Chang, here are the spirit stones I borrowed last time," Amalia said while handing him a bag of spirit stones.
Renshu Chang did not surprise anymore.
He accepted the bag without showing any emotion.
He didn’t count the stones.
He trusted Amalia, so he didn’t realize she had returned the spirit stones more than she had borrowed.
It wasn’t until later, when he used them, that he noticed the extra amount, which had been a while since then.
The three of them took a flying boat back.
This time, Renshu Chang insisted on handling everything himself.
Three days later, they arrived at the Green Lotus Sect on the last day.
At the mountain gate of the Green Lotus Sect stood a white figure, exuding an extraordinary aura.
Upon seeing this, Renshu Chang descended with the flying boat and exclaimed in surprise, "Master, why are you here? Is someone important coming today?"
"Junior Master Uncle, I’ve come to meet you," Sect Leader Qing greeted Kenny Lin warmly, without a hint of awkwardness.
His gaze then shifted to Amalia, "And this little girl must be Amalia. I am Qing Huacheng, the Sect Leader of the Green Lotus Sect."
Having the sect leader personally come to greet them was already a significant honor, and his courteous treatment of Amalia added to the sense of importance.
Amalia roughly understood why.
"Sect Leader, there’s no need for such formality. Just call me Amalia."
"We’re perfectly capable of making our way to the Upper Nine Peaks ourselves. There’s no need for you to go to such lengths, Nephew Qing," Kenny Lin said with a smile.
Sect Leader Qing’s smile twitched slightly, "Junior Master Uncle, you’re joking. I am here under the orders of Master Lian to escort you to the Nameless Peak. There’s no need to return to the Upper Nine Peaks for now."
Kenny Lin continued, "The Nameless Peak is right next to the Upper Nine Peaks. Can’t we go there ourselves?"
Sect Leader Qing had to explain, "The Nameless Peak, like the Upper Nine Peaks, has restrictions. However, the restrictions on the Nameless Peak are even more severe. Intruders face certain death because Senior Tian Wuya dislikes being disturbed and has a volatile temperament. You need someone familiar to guide you."
"Then we’ll trouble you, Nephew Qing," Kenny Lin said, accepting the explanation with a smile.
"It’s my duty to follow Master Lian’s orders," Sect Leader Qing replied with a smile, though whether he was cursing inwardly was unknown.
"Master, should I come too?" Renshu Chang asked.
Sect Leader Qing glanced at him, "You should come as well."
If anything goes wrong, I can use you as a shield.
Unaware of his master’s thoughts, Renshu Chang looked excited.
Although he envied Amalia, he was thrilled at the chance to witness Senior Tian Wuya taking on a disciple firsthand.
With no teleportation array at Nameless Peak, they had to fly there.
Despite being similar in size to the Upper Nine Peaks, the different restrictions made the two peaks look vastly different.
The Upper Nine Peaks were covered in white snow, a vast expanse of whiteness and emptiness.
In contrast, Nameless Peak was shrouded in dark clouds and frequent lightning, with ominous black clouds looming overhead.
Last time, Master Lian had directly brought them outside the barrier, so they hadn’t had a chance to properly see what Nameless Peak looked like.
"Is Nameless Peak always like this?" Amalia asked softly.
Renshu Chang, who had never entered Nameless Peak and didn’t know what to expect, immediately looked to his master for an answer.
Sect Leader Qing smiled and said, "If you can become a disciple of Senior Tian Wuya, there are some things you should know. Nameless Peak is different from the Upper Nine Peaks. It never snows here, but it rains all year round."
Amalia thought, how is that different?
It’s exactly the same, except one likes snow and the other likes rain.
Seeing Amalia’s thoughts, Sect Leader Qing chuckled again and added, "Senior Tian Wuya doesn’t like the rain. However, her former husband, who might become your future master’s husband, liked rainy days. But..," he became more serious, "do not mention him in front of Senior Tian Wuya."
"Sect Master, Senior Tian Wuya doesn’t seem to be from the Green Lotus Sect. Why is she here?" Amalia nodded her head and then asked.
