Former Interstellar Mercenary In Urban Cultivation World Chapter 717

The term "Junior Master Uncle" flowed easily from his lips, as the disciples of the Green Lotus Sect were all of a lower rank than them.

The other elders were mostly their peers, so they were used to being treated as seniors, and seniors couldn’t exactly whine to their juniors.

"I’ll handle this!" Amalia shouted, and without hesitation, she swung her sword at the devil that was rushing towards them.

Seeing that Amalia was only at mid-stage Golden Core, the devil sneered and swung its blade back at her, but in the next moment, it was sent flying with a scream.

Amalia’s strike didn’t kill the Devil immediately, but its body was covered in wounds, just as its companions had done to the disciples of the Green Lotus Sect.

The devils often enjoyed cruelly torturing weaker human cultivators, leaving them barely alive before finally granting them a quick death.

Seeing that Amalia had almost killed their companion with just one blow, the Devil on the boulder quickly wiped the smirk off its face, its gaze darkening as it stared at her.

"You actually have some skill. I’ll allow you to state your name," the Devil sneered.

"Hmph," Kenny Lin mocked in response.

"I wasn’t talking to you," the Devil said coldly, casting a dismissive glance at Kenny Lin.

Since Kenny Lin hadn’t made a move, the Devil didn’t even consider him a threat.

"Idiot, you still haven’t learned your lesson," a mocking voice suddenly rang out.

The Devil’s sharp gaze turned to the Green Lotus Sect disciple who had spoken.

"The weak have no right to speak," the Devil snarled.

Ding Huiqing’s face turned bright red with anger.

Renshu Chang, who thought Ding Huiqing disliked Amalia and Kenny Lin, was surprised to hear him speak up.

"What happened?" Amalia asked, not even glancing at the Devil on the boulder.

"We were ambushed," Renshu Chang explained briefly.

After they had left the cliff, they found a place to heal his Junior brother and the others.

They later contacted Amalia, and once they had mostly recovered, they prepared to continue searching for resources.

But then they encountered this group of Devils, who specialized in killing human cultivators.

"They deliberately left some resources behind to lure people in. By the time I realized it, we were already surrounded."

Amalia asked, "Did Vincent Tan and Ding Huiqing fall for it?"

Vincent Tan’s eyes widened at being called out.

Renshu Chang looked just as surprised, "How did you know?"

"The others wouldn’t have acted without your instructions," Amalia said calmly.

Vincent Tan and Ding Huiqing had higher ranks and were used to doing things their own way.

Even if the elders had reminded them to listen to Renshu Chang, he couldn’t treat them like ordinary disciples.

"Without the strength to back it up, you’re just dragging everyone else down. You two have really made a name for yourselves," Kenny Lin added with a laugh.

This time, even Vincent Tan looked ashamed, and Ding Huiqing’s face turned so red it looked like it might bleed.

"Actually... it wasn’t like that. They were trying to help us," one of the junior brothers, who had lost an arm, softly explained.

The Devils had used something as bait that happened to be an herb for regrowing limbs.

Whether it was on purpose or a coincidence, the two of them got excited and didn’t think things through.

The Devil on the boulder turned livid with rage.

He had been completely ignored by a human, and now these humans were chatting right in front of him.

"Fine, fine! Today, I’ll make sure you regret ever being born!"

Amalia coldly scanned the Devils around her.

Besides the one she had seriously injured, there were still fifteen left.

With so many devils and the element of surprise, it was no wonder Renshu Chang and the others almost fell into their trap.

"Do Devils usually act like this?"

Renshu Chang nodded, "Some Devils specifically target human cultivators. They don’t care about finding resources; killing human cultivators gets them what they want anyway."

"Run! Get out of here!" Kenny Lin suddenly shouted.

Renshu Chang was startled.

When he saw the fear on Kenny Lin’s face, he was confused.

What was going on?

Was he seeing things?

How could the once proud Kenny Lin suddenly show fear?

Amalia’s eye twitched.

This drama king—was he really going to start performing in front of everyone again?

"They outnumber us, and we only have ten people left, with four or five unable to fight. This isn’t good. They have so many, including four at the peak and five at the late stage of the leader-level devil. We’re no match for them. You all need to run, as far as you can! I’ll hold them off with Amalia!" Kenny Lin said hoarsely, his expression full of resolve.

The Devils across from them were delighted by this reaction, thinking the humans were scared.

They burst into laughter.

"Look at this human. He looks so good when he’s scared."

"I’m already trembling with excitement. I can’t wait to see him beg for mercy."

"Moralik, give the order already! I can’t hold back any longer."

"Yeah, there are so many of them. This will be fun. We can’t let them escape."

"Don’t worry, there are ten of them. There’s plenty to go around," Moralik, the Devil on the boulder, sneered after a moment, being fooled by Kenny Lin’s impressive acting.

"If we manage to kill these ten human cultivators, that’s like taking out a fifth of the total number in this treasure hunt. That’s a pretty big achievement, right? And I heard that if you kill a human prodigy, the merit is even higher, isn’t it?" said a Devil standing next to Moralik, with a smug look on his face.

Moralik glanced at him and nodded, "Of course. We’re here for fun, but we still need to tally our merits. If you want the merit of killing a human prodigy, you’ll have to do it yourself. No one else will help you unless you can’t handle it."
