Forsaken Starfall Chapter 11

Th-this..." Lara couldn’t hide her shock. The friendly smile on her face vanished instantly, replaced by a confused expression as she looked at Fyar’s card. In all her life working at the association, this was the first time she had ever seen an adventurer card with so many zeros.

On average, even a newly registered adventurer would definitely get a starting level. Whether from life experience or from having adventured illegally, their cards would at least show a level of five to seven. Even if someone had never adventured and never used magic at all, their card would still display Level 1.

But this is zero. Fyar said his card was lost, which means he was an adventurer before. So why is his level zero? Is he lying?

Lara shifted her gaze from the card to Fyar’s face. Her stare now turned sharp and probing. "Can you use magic? And why is your level zero? What does this all mean? When you first made a card, was your level also zero?" For origınal chapters go to 𝕟𝕠𝕧𝕖𝕝⟡𝕗𝗂𝗋𝖾⟡𝕟𝕖𝕥

The barrage of questions made Fyar think fast. If I say my magic is sealed, she’ll definitely ask more about the seal. If I answer that it’s because of my amnesia, I’m afraid she might detect my lie. Fyar could sense that the woman in front of him had a high level. It wasn’t impossible that she had an ability to sense falsehoods. Even if it was just a possibility, no matter how small, it could still happen.

Fyar sighed and decided to take a different risk.

"I don’t want to answer."

"I don’t want to," Fyar repeated, this time in a firmer tone and with an unflinching gaze.

Lara’s brow furrowed at that answer. She stared at Fyar for a few seconds, then let out a long sigh. The professional smile returned to her face, as if her previous shock had never happened. "Very well. Please take your card and leave if you have no other business."

Lara didn’t want to waste her energy thinking about unimportant things. She was too lazy for that. Besides, she felt that if this young man dared to cause trouble, it would be very easy for her to kill him on the spot.

Fyar nodded, took his card, and put it in his pocket. He then returned the glowing orb to Lara.

The two of them then exited the association building and immediately breathed in the fresh air. Fyar let out a sigh of relief. "I guess we’re lucky that woman didn’t demand too many answers," he said to Rasie.

Rasie nodded. "Sometimes she’s very lazy, sometimes very diligent. You met her at the right time. Yes, you were lucky." She paused for a moment before adding, "My job is done. I’m going back to train. You can return to the inn. Is there anything else you want to ask?"

"I’m a Hunter right away? I can’t choose a class?" Fyar asked.

"Are you an idiot? Class is determined at birth. Don’t tell me you forgot something as basic as that, too?" Rasie answered curtly.

Fyar decided not to answer anymore.

Rasie added, "Alright, I’m leaving. Tomorrow you’ll train with me and Zaefal. I can finally hit you Ha!, I can’t wait." She turned and walked away from Fyar, waving without looking back. "Goodbye, weird hair!"

Weird hair? I don’t think it’s that weird, Fyar protested internally.

He sighed again and looked down at the katana sheathed neatly at his waist. I never thought I’d find a sword in another world. On Earth, Fyar had mastered the use of all types of weapons. He had trained with a katana at the academy and used it on a mission in Japan. At times, he even used just a pencil as a weapon.

Fyar then thought about what he should do for the rest of the day. In his world, he would usually train, play chess, or sometimes read novels and play games on his phone in his free time. In this world, there was no chess and no phone. As for training, he was feeling lazy. Returning to the inn and just daydreaming until nightfall was not an appealing option.

After thinking for a moment, Fyar decided to take a walk around the city and buy a few new sets of clothes. The problem was, he didn’t know where to look. Fyar began to walk aimlessly, letting his feet carry him through the bustling city streets.

The evening air felt warm, filled with the aroma of freshly baked bread from a shop and the scent of spices from a stall across the street. The main street was made of neatly arranged flat stones, wide enough for two horse-drawn carts to pass. On its left and right, buildings stood with a unique blend of architectural styles. Most were two-story wooden houses with sloped roofs typical of the medieval period, but some of the larger public buildings, like the city hall and the library, were built from marble with sturdy pillars and grand arches that reminded Fyar of Roman architecture. The combination created a cityscape that felt both familiar and foreign.

Fyar’s gaze shifted to a merchant’s stall selling a variety of fresh fruits. Their bright colors and diverse shapes caught his attention. Since he liked fruit, he decided to buy some.

"Mister, how much for these fruits?"

"14 fruits for one gold coin!" the merchant replied with a wide smile.

Pretty cheap, Fyar thought. Wait, what is one gold coin actually worth? I’m a little confused now. Ah, whatever, it seems I’ve been infected by Lara’s lazy way of thinking.

"Alright," Fyar replied, then handed a gold coin to the merchant.

Suddenly, Fyar heard a woman’s voice calling his name from behind. He turned and saw a figure who was not unfamiliar to him.

A sweet woman with white hair and emerald green eyes, wearing an elegant white dress.
