Forsaken Starfall Chapter 25

Fyar let out a long sigh, finally surrendering to his current situation. It’s true, the best option right now is to become an adventurer. He rested his palm on his chin, his eyes staring blankly at the bonfire that was beginning to dim. Alright, I’ll save up to five thousand gold coins. After that, I’m done.

"Alright, alright. It seems I don’t have any other choice," Fyar sighed, his voice laced with resignation.

Hearing that, Illya smiled widely, her eyes sparkling. "Tomorrow before training, I’ll register your name officially, okay, Fyar?"

"Welcome aboard, Fyar," Zaefal said, offering him a sincere smile.

Only Rasie said nothing. She crossed her arms and looked away, appearing indifferent to Fyar’s decision to join permanently. Her focus was instead on Zaefal. "So, how are we going to get to level fifty in eight months?"

Zaefal’s expression turned serious again. "After I killed that demon, I realized something. The way to level up quickly is to kill creatures with a much higher level than us. I don’t know if this only applies to demons, or if it works for all living beings."

He looked at Illya and Rasie in turn. "Besides, in the two years we’ve been a party, we’ve never killed a monster that was at a much higher level. The highest we’ve ever killed was only a two-level difference."

Rasie sighed in frustration. "But killing a monster that’s more than six levels above us is forbidden by the association, Zaefal. We can’t use that method."

Zaefal shook his head, his gaze sharp. "We just have to not get caught right?. I’m also starting to think the reason for the ban isn’t because it’s dangerous, but because they don’t want people leveling up too fast."

Illya tilted her head, looking confused. "What are you talking about, Zaefal? Of course it’s dangerous. That rule was made because all the adventurers who tried it either died or disappeared."

"They could have been deliberately killed. No one knows for sure," Zaefal replied, his voice laced with doubt.

Fyar slowly raised his hand. "Can I go home? I want to sleep. I’m very tired, and it’s already late."

Zaefal sighed. "You’re right. Alright, we’ll talk about this another time."

"Just interrupting people’s conversation, you weird hair," Rasie muttered under her breath.

After that, they ended their meeting. Fyar went straight back to the inn. As soon as he entered, a warm and lively atmosphere greeted him. Several groups of adventurers were drinking and laughing loudly, filling the room with the sound of laughter and clinking glasses. Fyar gave a brief greeting to Laura, who was busy serving customers, and then went straight up to his room.

He collapsed onto the bed, feeling the ache in every one of his muscles. Fyar stared at the wooden ceiling of his room for a few minutes before darkness finally swallowed him and he fell into a deep sleep.

He was dreaming. Fyar felt himself floating in the middle of an endless cosmos, surrounded by beautiful green and blue nebulas.

This place... Am I dreaming? Fyar was fully aware that he was in a dream. He then tried to control his dream, but failed. He could only float helplessly, trapped in that place. Technically, this is a lucid dream. Why can’t I control it?

"When are you going to the southern dungeon?" Suddenly, a man’s voice echoed in his ears.

It was followed by the appearance of the green-haired man with yellow and blue eyes. This time, he was wearing all-black clothes.

"You changed your clothes?" Fyar asked, deliberately ignoring the man’s question.

The green-haired man frowned. "Why is that important?" He stared at Fyar intently. "Go to the southern dungeon immediately."

"Why?" Fyar asked, feeling that this man was being a little forceful.

The man hissed in annoyance. "I’m sick of being here."

Fyar’s eyebrows rose. "What does that have to do with me and the dungeon?"

The man let out a long sigh. "It seems I have to give you a piece of the truth." He waited for Fyar to respond, but Fyar just stared at him in silence. "You have magic. My task is to give it to you. The way to get it is by going to the southern dungeon and eating the golden fruit. After you get your magic, I can leave."

Fyar wore a confused expression. "I have magic? Why can you only leave after I get my magic?"

"Just go, fu*king go! You ask too many questions!" the man finally lost his patience. ɴᴇᴡ ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀʀᴇ ᴘᴜʙʟɪsʜᴇᴅ ᴏɴ 𝓷𝓸𝓿𝓮𝓵⚑𝓯𝓲𝓻𝓮⚑𝓷𝓮𝓽

Not long after the man shouted, Fyar woke up from his sleep. His heart was pounding hard.

He heard a knocking sound from his room’s door.

Who is that? Zaefal? Ah yes, I remember there’s training today.

"Yeah, yeah, one second! Let me wash my face first!" Fyar called out, yawning. He went to the bathroom to relieve himself and splash his face with cold water. After feeling sufficiently awake, Fyar opened the door and saw Laura standing there with a friendly smile.

"Master Fyar, there is someone waiting for you downstairs."
