“You have misunderstood, Mr. Douglas,” Purple Summers said. “We do not intend to take your property. In fact, Ms. Montgomery is willing to leave without taking anything, but considering her financial situation, the divorce agreement will demand a higher child support, plus compensation…”
“What compensation?” Norman asked.
“It seems Mr. Douglas hasn’t read the divorce agreement’s clauses carefully.”
Indeed, Norman hadn’t read it carefully—he had become so enraged at just the first few clauses. Moreover, he had never planned to get a divorce, so it didn’t matter if he read the agreement!
“After Riley Montgomery married into the Douglas Family, due to your protection and indulgence, she indirectly lost two children. Mr. Douglas, you bear inescapable responsibility. This compensation is definitely indispensable,” Purple Summers calmly replied.

“Yes, it was an accident! At that time, I was with my son practicing baseball. When I hit the ball, I didn’t control the angle well and unintentionally shattered the glass. But that doesn’t prove anything. I surely wouldn’t want to harm my own child, would I?” Norman’s face was stern as he spoke coldly, “I never wanted to hide it on purpose. It’s just that I didn’t want to cause a misunderstanding with the police, so I didn’t mention it!”
Purple Summers smiled faintly, “I heard the young master is very smart. He passed his piano exams and his English exams, yet despite spending the longest time on baseball, he hasn’t made much progress, having difficulty even hitting the ball. Mr. Douglas, don’t you think that’s strange?”
“What are you trying to say?” Norman frowned, looking at Purple Summers.
