Fortunate to Have You This Lifetime Chapter 679

Chapter 679: Chapter 679 Calming Down_1

Purple Summers passed her name card to Lindsay Carpenter twice.

The first time, it fell to the ground, and the second time, it was in Lindsay’s hands.

Looking at the name card in her hand and then toward the retreating figure of Purple, Lindsay was utterly baffled.

What exactly was Ms. Summers after, a fight over pride or a genuine act of kindness in wanting to help her?

The thoughts of the wealthy are indeed incomprehensible.

Lindsay didn’t take it to heart, casually placing the name card on the table, thinking it was just Purple’s way of showing off, offering to help her with the lawsuit.

But it didn’t matter anymore, since she had already gotten the money.

Thinking back, the prosperity of Clearwater had really been an eye-opener for her, with a young heiress parting with $75 thousand as if it was a trivial matter…

Lindsay felt a mix of emotions as she picked up her phone to check her bank account balance once more, staring at the very real numbers displayed on her screen, she excitedly rolled onto her bed—it felt like a dream she hoped would repeat itself!

After meeting Lindsay, Purple hurried to school, arriving just in time as she entered the classroom, the bell rang.

Some of her classmates had heard about yesterday’s incident, and Jane McCain and Zara Jameson were also in the know.

During the break, they approached Purple’s desk to ask her what had happened.

“We should walk with you after school,” Jane suggested. “If she comes to trouble you again, we’ll call the cops and catch her! Let her taste some hardship! Otherwise, if she keeps showing up, there will surely be gossip!”

Purple smiled and shook her head, saying, “She won’t come again.”

And Lindsay Carpenter indeed didn’t come again.

With that, the issue was put to rest, and the idle chatter around the school faded away. Lindsay’s appearance was like a discordant note in a melody, quickly forgotten by everyone.

A few days later, Purple’s leg injury had completely healed, and she no longer needed a crutch to walk around.

She thought about Lindsay’s situation and took the opportunity to call Marcel Jefferson.

“Have you been contacted by a woman named Lindsay Carpenter recently?”

“No, not at all,” Marcel said, puzzled, afraid he might have forgotten and recalling his recent clients carefully. “I don’t remember her, is she your friend? I’ll have Larissa Hamilton check the visitor records in a bit.”

Lindsay’s bold and provocative style made her a memorable woman, and with Marcel having no recollection, it meant Lindsay hadn’t reached out to him at all.

“No need to check,” Purple said with a smile, asking, “How’s the law firm doing lately?”

“Well, it’s pretty smooth. I hired two senior lawyers, so we can slowly take on cases we couldn’t handle before. The legal interns in the firm are starting to hold their own too…”

“Really, that’s great.”

“Haha! Thanks to your blessing, big sister!”

After chatting idly for a while, Purple hung up the phone.

She respected Lindsay’s decision and could roughly guess Lindsay’s thoughts, given the particular nature of her profession.

Setting aside the potential outcome of the lawsuit, merely filing a formal lawsuit against the wealthy young man would be akin to Lindsay indirectly cutting off her own income source. After all, which client would want to seek services from a lady who might sue them?

And then there was the influence of the wealthy scion, the pressure from the nightclub owner, and other factors.

Unless Lindsay changed professions or left Kingsley, she wouldn’t be able to face the lawsuit without worries.

In the evening, as usual, Purple spent some time reading.

Perhaps preoccupied with Lindsay’s case, she couldn’t find peace of mind and, finally giving up on her book, she opened her laptop to search for information.

Alexander Summers came in with a glass of milk and saw her browsing photos of a man, all the same face, posing for selfies in various positions, most of the pictures showcasing his muscular physique with him half-naked, wearing only tight briefs.

“He looks strong, but it’s all pumped up with protein powder; he wouldn’t last a punch,” Alexander said sinisterly from behind, with a somber tone.
