“Violet, where did you get this information?” Caitlin asked, her heart in suspense, unable to believe the claim, “Is there any evidence?”
Violet Nelson had no evidence. She was only trying to sow doubt in Caitlin’s mind, so she spouted nonsense.
“Her face is the best evidence. Aunt, you’re just too kind. Purple Summers wants to use this opportunity to get close to you and then cozy up to our family!” Violet Nelson watched Caitlin’s expression, probing, “Think about it. She represents you in court, out of gratitude you would surely treat her well, and she looks a lot like Uncle. With such back-and-forth, wouldn’t you consider acknowledging her as a goddaughter?…”
This was what Violet Nelson minded the most.
After her parents met with an accident in her childhood, Violet grew up with her grandparents. They pitied her for her lack of parents but still favored boys over girls, thus Violet, as a granddaughter, wasn’t particularly cherished.
Latter on, her grandfather’s sister, who was childless and lived a lonely life, chose Violet to stay with her given that her grandfather had many grandchildren.
