Purple Summers felt alarmed, “What on earth do you want to do?!”
“I want you to test him,” Nathaniel Summers smiled, “why, are you afraid? Afraid that the feelings you’ve invested in are just illusions, like the moon reflected in water, a flower in the mirror?”
Purple Summers asked, “Does Evelyn Willard know about this?”
Nathaniel Summers gently shook his head, “She doesn’t know, but you need to understand that there is a saying in this world, ‘A guilty conscience needs no accuser.’ If Alexander Summers knew that Evelyn Willard has returned, he would definitely eliminate the threat at its roots.”
He smiled as he looked at Purple Summers, “Evelyn Willard is currently living on Prosperity Street, so what do you think, do you dare to tell Alexander Summers?”
Purple Summers’s body trembled slightly, and she felt afraid.
It was not because Jade Carlson’s mother had returned, but because of the certainty in Nathaniel Summers’s smile.
He was certain that Alexander Summers was the mastermind!

She consoled herself: It was just asking if he would return, it wasn’t a test, it didn’t imply distrust…
Alexander Summers replied to her message quickly with a single word: “Yes.”
Purple Summers felt slightly relieved.
But that was only just a little, she was still anxious.
Purple Summers waited for Alexander Summers in her room.
After a short while, worried that Alexander Summers would go directly to his room to rest upon returning, she went to wait for him in his room. As time ticked by slowly, Purple Summers’s heart could not find peace; she stepped out of the room to wait for him…
Atra Blanc had already gone to sleep, unaware that Purple Summers was pacing in the hallway.
Purple Summers moved from the hallway to the stairs, from the stairs to the living room, and finally back to the stairs, where she sat down and fell asleep on the steps.
Alexander Summers didn’t return until after one o’clock at night, finding Purple Summers asleep, leaning against the stair railing.
He walked over, gently picked her up, and carried her upstairs back to their room.
Purple Summers awoke in his arms, looked up to see his Adam’s apple, his jawline… and looking further up, she saw his eyes.
All of a sudden, Purple Summers wrapped her arms around his neck, clinging tightly to him!
Alexander Summers was slightly confused, sensing that something was off with Purple Summers’s emotions, he asked, “What’s wrong?”
Purple Summers didn’t answer, but looked up and kissed him, just like he always kissed her, filled with longing and desire.
Alexander Summers was almost dizzy with the unexpected sweetness.
Tonight, Purple Summers was far more passionate than he could have imagined.
Alexander Summers was overwhelmed, almost wishing he could take her right there on the stairs.
But something was amiss.
Even if Purple Summers was tormented by lovesickness, she shouldn’t be doing this here, not in a place where Atra Blanc could potentially see them at any moment! She was always so shy and sensitive in matters of love, so why was she now acting with such reckless abandon?
Alexander Summers carried her back to the room.
“What’s gotten into you?” Alexander Summers let her go and asked with a smile, “Little temptress, are you hinting that I haven’t been satisfying you lately?”
Purple Summers smiled coyly, “That’s as if you’ve ever satisfied me.”
