Fortunate to Have You This Lifetime Chapter 766

Chapter 766: Chapter 766 Forgot the Homework_1

Alexander Summers worried that Purple Summers might think of running away.

Actually, the thought was somewhat absurd. Purple Summers led a highly regimented life between school and home, leaving a trail wherever she went. Even if she really did run, her unmistakable identity was laid out here with her whereabouts readily traceable at any time.

Unless she no longer wanted this identity and was willing to give up her chance at the Judicial Training Institute!

How could that be possible?

Becoming a prosecutor had been her aspiration for two lifetimes.

Alexander Summers was well aware of this, but he still felt uneasy. This feeling… this feeling was like returning to the very beginning of his relationship with her, watching, following, coercing, controlling every move, as if she might fly away at any moment if he didn’t hold her tightly in his grasp.

Even though he knew that violence would cause her to resent him, an Alexander accustomed to such methods could think of no better way.

To quietly step back and give her time and space to calm down? …Hadn’t such scenarios been frequent in dramas? Whenever one party in a couple suggested taking a temporary break to cool off, it inevitably ended with a complete split!

Thinking about this, Alexander Summers would feel utterly miserable.

Zack Wallace, on the other end of the phone, was full of concern, advising, “Sir, our people have already started heading towards Pearlpoint City, leaving not many behind. If more are dispatched to the school, your personal defense will be weakened. Moreover, if there’s any commotion on your end and the thirteenth young master uncovers it, it will expose Ms. Summers, which would be more loss than gain.”

The amnesiac Damian Howard was unaware of Roy Howard’s second identity as Alexander Summers.

Now, Alexander Summers was already at a disadvantage compared to Damian Howard. If the situation of watching over Purple Summers was discovered by Damian, Alexander’s position would become very passive.

After some thought, Alexander still couldn’t put his mind at ease and said, “Find a couple of trustworthy people; don’t let her notice.”

Zack Wallace had no choice but to comply, heaving a sigh before informing Alexander, “Today, the thirteenth young master and a few great-uncles met, talking for a long time in the hospital room. Our people were all sent away, and even Miss Lily Howard was not allowed to eavesdrop… Oh yes, Miss Lily has asked to meet with you tonight.”

“Got it,” Alexander Summers responded indifferently and hung up the phone.

At that moment, the bell rang across the campus. Students who hadn’t yet stepped through the school gates ran hurriedly inside, and soon the surroundings became empty.

Seated in the car, Alexander Summers closed his eyes for a brief rest and then drove off after a short break.

Purple Summers entered the classroom, and not long after, the bell rang.

During morning self-study, there were no teachers, so students either read or solved problems on their own, some quietly reciting texts.

Purple Summers wasn’t in the right headspace today. Clutching her textbook, she couldn’t absorb a single word.

Jane McCain gave Purple a meaningful look, “Purple, Purple…”

Purple Summers turned to look at her, baffled.

“Lend me your homework to copy, please? I forgot to do it!” Jane McCain pleaded with her hands clasped together, bowing ingratiatingly.

Only then did Purple Summers’s thoughts float back to school, and she muttered awkwardly, “I forgot to do it too…”

Jane McCain’s eyes widened in shock, unable to believe that even a top student could forget to study?

Taking advantage of the teacher’s absence during the self-study period, both of them turned to Zara Jameson for help. Zara handed over her homework with a grumble, “You two are too much. One is going abroad after the New Year, and the other has already been admitted to the school; you’re both no longer worried about final grades, right? You don’t even do your homework. I was up until midnight finishing it…”

The two hurriedly copied the homework; they had to submit it once morning self-study was over.

Jane McCain was in better shape, having forgotten only her math homework, which she finished quickly.

But Purple Summers was in a different boat; apart from math and Chinese, she also had an 800-word English essay due. She couldn’t simply copy that and, in the end, had to admit her mistake to the English teacher.
