Fortunate to Have You This Lifetime Chapter 833

Chapter 833: Chapter 833: The Ungrateful Wolf_1

Old Master Simonson let out a heavy sigh, “Violet, since Mr. Rieste has made up his mind, it’s no use begging him anymore. You did very well this time, and we are all very grateful to you. We will think of another way to handle this matter.”

“Granduncle, actually… Zeke Lawson has been pursuing me,” Violet said, her face reddening slightly with an embarrassed explanation, “Mr. Rieste has no children of his own, only this one nephew, whom he has always treated like his own son. If I can get Zeke to speak on our behalf, it might work.”

The old lady was shocked, “How do you plan to get Zeke to persuade his uncle? Agree to date him? Marry him? Violet, don’t be foolish! No matter how difficult it is for the Simonson Family, we will never gamble with your lifetime happiness!”

Old Master Simonson understood Violet’s meaning and said solemnly, “Violet, this is no child’s play. You need to think this through.”

“I have thought it through very clearly,” Violet said sincerely, “Even though I don’t carry the Simonson name, I have grown up in the Simonson Family since I was a child. In my heart, I have long considered this place my own home. How could I stand by idly when my own family is in trouble?

Granduncle, Grandmother, don’t worry, I really don’t feel aggrieved. Zeke has always treated me well. It was I who was picky, thinking I was young and that there might be more opportunities in the future, so I did not agree to be with him. Now, if I can help Uncle, help the Presidential Palace, I am more than willing to do so.”

There was an air of nobility and righteousness in her expressions, her words charged with deep emotion and commitment, moving everyone present.

“Violet! You silly child!” the old lady’s eyes were red as she embraced Violet.

Everyone else was silent.

Frankly, Violet marrying into the Lawson Family would be a well-matched marriage; it truly would not be a disgrace.

If this could be arranged, it would not only be a good match but would also solve the current crisis. All the officials from the Presidential Office would be pleased to see it happen and even breathed a sigh of relief.

Since Zeke was also considered a talented young man and not a playboy, they would not feel guilty on a moral ground.

This was also why Old Master Simonson did not object vehemently.

He too thought it was a solution that killed two birds with one stone.

During dinner, Purple Summers did not come downstairs to dine, but no one cared.

Purple’s inability to be of any help in Christopher Simonson’s matters meant her presence at the dinner table was of no concern to anyone.

The old lady put food into Violet’s bowl and said, “Violet, the Presidential Palace will definitely arrange for you the most luxurious and grand wedding. Whatever betrothal gifts the Lawson Family provides, we will double it with a dowry. We won’t let you be wronged!”

With a shy tone, Violet responded, “Thank you, Grandmother.”

“Money is secondary. What matters most is the person,” Old Master Simonson said, “Mutual respect and trust are crucial for a happy life. If that boy from the Lawson Family does not treat you well, we would never agree to the marriage.”

“I understand, Granduncle,” Violet nodded, modest and proper.

The atmosphere around the dining table was jovial, but Caitlin Carter’s thoughts were in disarray.

Although a solution to the problem seemed in sight, she should have been happy, yet she couldn’t control the turmoil inside her.

After finishing dinner as if chewing wax, Caitlin Carter asked the servant to prepare another portion of food to take to Purple’s room.

The old lady snorted coldly, “All the good food is wasted on an ingrate.”

Compared to Violet’s self-sacrifice, Purple’s indifference was astonishing, almost heartless.

Caitlin was somewhat upset and tried to defend Purple, “Mother, Purple surely wants to help too, but being new here, she is willing but powerless.”

Comparing the isolated Purple with the well-connected Violet was inherently unfair.

The old lady twisted her mouth and said no more.

Sighing, Caitlin picked up the meal and went to Purple’s room—
