That was a big deal!
Jian Yiling was studying locally for high school, however, she wouldn’t necessarily study locally for university!

“No, no. You’re being unreasonable. She’s grown up already. You can’t restrain her like that.”
Grandma Jian was determined to not do this.
She didn’t want to keep her darling to herself. She wanted to support her granddaughter to do what she wanted to do. She didn’t want to hold Yiling back.
As Grandma Jian and Grandpa Jian argued about Yiling’s future, Wen Nuan and Jian Yuncheng arrived at the Old Jian Residence.
Grandma Jian said in a bad mood: “Can you guys stop coming over as soon as something happens? The excuses that you guys are finding are terrible.”
As her motive got exposed by Grandma Jian, Wen Nuan retorted in a quiet voice: “Then why don’t you let us take Yiling back home? We won’t have to find excuses to come to the Old Jian Residence anymore.”
Wen Nuan felt a bit upset. However, she didn’t have much confidence in her words.
“No! That won’t do! Since ancient times, it’s hard for a girl to come back once she’s been sent out of the house!” Grandma Jian replied with an unfriendly tone. Despite this, she still cared inside.
Either way, she wouldn’t listen to their suggestion! They couldn’t take Yiling away from her! Her darling had said that she wanted to stay with her!
“It’s still the Jian household though,” Wen Nuan said in a hurry.
Grandma Jian turned her head to speak to Grandpa Jian: “Grandpa Jian, our family has already split up, right? Our sons have all gone to live in their own homes, haven’t they? Doesn’t that mean that we’re not in the same family anymore?”
“Yeah, we’ve split. We have nothing to do with them anymore.”
Grandpa Jian waved his hand and had an expression of disdain on his face.
Then, Grandma Jian added: “Besides, Yiling said that she’s willing to live with us. It’s useless for you to say anything else.”
The old couple who had just been arguing about their darling’s future were now united against the ‘outsiders’.
“But you’re still my parents-in-law. That means I can come back to visit you right? Can’t I bring my other children to your house? There’s no rule that says that I, as a daughter-in-law, can’t visit every day right?”
Wen Nuan started to act shamelessly as well.
Even if she couldn’t take Jian Yiling away with her, Wen Nuan refused to leave easily with just a few words from Grandma and Grandpa Jian.
She had found a good excuse today. And thus, she was determined to have dinner with her daughter before she went home.

Nowadays, they felt that their daughter was becoming more and more distant from them. She had her own social circles that were completely separate from theirs.
