The price of the escape room was not much pricier than an average escape room. However, the cost of the setup for the store owner was obviously much pricier than an average escape room.
Every once in a while, the store owner would change the theme and layout of the escape room.
If one were to look at it in this way, it seemed as though the store owner was losing money.
However, simultaneously, it also made escape room enthusiasts even more curious about the new rooms.
The others searched around the room however, none of them could find an exit.
And thus, the group began to worry:
“Ahh, why is the first room so difficult already? I’ve already searched the walls and everything. However, I found nothing!”
“Is the ‘corpse’ a clue? However, we’ve checked it already. There’s no key or switch on it.”
“No way… Do we really need to ask for help in the first room?”
“Let’s not do that. That’s sort of lame.”
“However, the only clue that we’re given is the line written on the bed: If the body is not at peace, then the soul can not be reborn.”
“What does that mean? Isn’t that just not dying in peace? Or does it mean something else?”
“…”
The crowd began to have a discussion.
Yao Moping stood at the center of the room. It looked like she didn’t have a clue either.
However, she refused to give up. Her eyes kept skimming over her surroundings.
After a moment, her eyes stopped on Zhai Yunsheng and Jian Yiling.
After examining the dummy for quite some time, Jian Yiling finally stood up. Then, she walked slowly around the room, one step at a time.
“What is she doing?”
Everyone else stared at Jian Yiling.
“I don’t know. She’s probably thinking as she’s pacing around?”
“Is she measuring the size of this room?”
“I don’t think the size of this room has anything to do with this puzzle though.”
As they watched Jian Yiling, she suddenly stopped walking around.
Then, she squatted down and tapped her hand on an aged tile.
Following that, she pulled out a small tool from her backpack. She used the tool to pry open the tile.
The tile was not properly laid on the ground. As a result, it could be picked up with someone’s bare hands.
However, Jian Yiling did not want to injure her hands.
After she pried open the tile, there was a cloth bag hidden underneath the tiles.
Jian Yiling took the cloth bag out and placed it into the body of the dummy.
Then, a ‘ding’ sound could be heard. The hospital bed shifted and an exit appeared. The exit led into the next room.
It turned out that something in the dummy reacted to the items inside of the cloth bag. When the two things were brought together, the door would open.
Internal organs made out of the same resin material were inside the cloth bag.
And thus, when the two objects were placed together, the dummy was complete. Only then would the puzzle be solved.
This fulfilled the hint in the room: “If the body is not at peace, then the soul can not be reborn.”
“Wow. I would have never thought of that!”
“I’ve walked back and forth in the room several times. However, I didn’t realize that there was a hollow tile in the room!”
“Sister-in-law is awesome!”
Everyone began to praise Jian Yiling’s thinking abilities.
In fact, some people called Jian Yiling ‘sister-in-law’.
Upon hearing the words ‘sister-in-law’, Yao Moping’s expression became ugly.
Then, they all entered the second room.
The second room was dark and gloomy as well.
There was a door in that room. On the door, there was a combination lock.
This was to be expected of an escape room. Escape rooms would typically ask their players to find a password.
This time, the room was arranged like a study room. There were many different things scattered throughout the room.
Just now, they got too few clues. However, this time around, they got given too many clues. There was too much clutter in the room. As a result, no one knew what information was useful for unlocking the door.
And thus, everyone made various attempts at guessing the passcode. They attempted to see who could find the correct code first.
