Yuna got herself some extension, given her work was well appreciated back in the headquarters. Her close watch on the target and daily reports on not only him but all the people around him have provided them the assurance that this time, the woman would not be lenient.
However, until now, Yuna hasn't been able to gain any evidence that could prove Minoru's relations with the Dark Side.
She has planted a few cameras around his house but because of his condition, Minoru hasn't left his house for the past two days.
Now, the question arises, how did he recover from such severe injuries so soon? That raised several questions, motivating her to keep tracking him.
'But his friend tho...why didn't Minoru react hearing about Vanquisher? Is he not aware of us?' Puffing out the smoke, she inwardly muttered.
Yuna used someone to contact Minoru's friend. Naoko, as expected, revealed his interaction with the officer who contacted the blue-haired boy.
However, the target didn't react the way, Yuna expected him to. And their conversation...Naoko confessing his love to Minoru urged Yuna to dwell on their past a bit.
"Ho~" The file she found about Naoko greatly intrigued her.
Recently, Naoko was involved with a gang that was deeply rooted in the system of the nation. However, she wasn't interested in that, taking care of such gangs wasn't her job. The reason why she seemed excited was because the infamous leader of that gang, with whom Naoko was involved, was also in that resort where this whole situation arose.
'Chinatsu eh...' It can be a coincidence but Yuna's instincts said that there was a connection.
"I need to keep an eye on this Naoko guy. Seems useful..." She was all alone on this mission—the human resources of Vanquisher were very limited—that's why between Chinatsu and Naoko, she chose the latter since the woman mentioned was someone Yuna needed to be careful about.
"Agh...I have already smoked thrice today..." She has been trying to get rid of her habit but whenever she isn't moving around and has to watch a damn computer screen all day, her fingers start tingling.
Crushing the remnant, the silver head got up from her chair and decided to take a bath.
Pulling her top, she unbuttoned her short pants before wrapping her hair in a bun. The bathtub was already filled with water so she just went ahead and dipped inside the cold water.
"Ahh....comfort." Sighing in relaxation, the woman closed her eyes and rested her neck on the ledge of the bathtub.
This apartment flat provided her with all the necessities and the best place was this bathtub. She has started taking baths regularly now.
The woman was allowing her muscles to loosen up when suddenly she moved her hand and held the person behind her.
"Guh...wow." the person exclaimed before saying, "You got scary reflexes, officer."
Yuna smirked, "Entering a woman's bathroom without alerting the security, up here on the twentieth floor....not something a human can do." Yuna muttered as she kept her hold around Minoru's neck and opened her eyes.
However, before she could have turned around,
Her hand fell and crashed on the ledge of the bathtub.
Yuna frowned as she found herself losing all her energy, her body no longer listening to her command even when she tried to use magic.
"It won't work, Miss. I made sure to use the paralysis potion of the highest grade. You won't be able to move for the next thirty minutes...or maybe more."
Minoru effortlessly walked across the edge of the bathtub, removing his clothes on his will and he dipped inside the water, "To make you not feel embarrassed, here I have removed my clothes as well."
"So you indeed are an incubus, eh?" The woman asked, still trying to move even a single finger so she could trap this demon and prove her worth once again.
Minoru tilted his head, "Yeah, I am. And you are the savior of humanity, the almighty Vanquisher."
"So you know about us...that means you sense the tracker in Naoko, huh?" She underestimated the demon. He can sense the device in that boy that's why he didn't react at all.
Minoru heaved a sigh, "See there is no time to appraise each other and compliment each other's efforts. Tell me this, why are you so obsessed with me? Like after that accident, you guys should have left me alone, no?"
The woman snarled, "You are a demon, a being whose existence is a curse to humanity. You and your brethren are the cancer that would end up killing everyone if they are given time to grow. Naturally, when we sense danger from someone, we will pursue them until the end."
Minoru rolled his eyes, "Go check your records, I have not committed a single crime. What cancer?"
Yuna smirked, "But haven't you played with people's minds and bodies here and there for your benefit?"
Minoru turned silent, his expression turning grim. It was true that he has had physical relationships with many and he has tempered with a few minds, however,
"My intentions always remained clear; I only fulfilled the desires of those people."
"Yeah, whatever." Yuna scoffed; like hell, she was going to believe this inhumane.
A long silence descended in the bathroom, before Minoru said, "I have seen a few Vanquishers in the past, even fucked one a few weeks ago....however, none of them seemed so hateful and determined for their duty."
Minoru tilted his head as he asked, "Tell me, Miss Officer, do you resent demons because someone-"
"Don't!" She warned, "Don't you dare to ask me about that! I hate demons because of their inhumane tendencies and blood thirsty disposition."
Minoru narrowed his eyes. He could sense the fear and panic in her eyes which ushered him, "Okay, don't move. Let me see what you have gone through to be ."
