Bai Zhongqi gestured to show he meant no harm, then handed the pistol in his hand to Bu, explaining, "This is your compensation from us. We have traveled a long distance and are very tired; we hope to find a safe place to rest. Is that possible?"
Bang's eyes widened as he watched Bu take the pistol, exclaiming in surprise, "This is an alien weapon, right?"
Bai Zhongqi keenly noticed the word "alien," but maintained his composure.
Bu carefully inspected the pistol, but found that its complexity was far beyond his understanding.
Bai Zhongqi stepped forward and explained to Bu, "This is a short-range weapon for self-defense. It has a fingerprint password lock. I've now removed the password so anyone can fire it. If you set it to your own fingerprint, then only you can use it."
Bu was also amazed; he had seen some alien weapons that circulated in the market and knew their tremendous power could pose a threat if taken by others. A weapon pistol that could only be unlocked with one's own fingerprint was obviously much safer.
The curious Bang leaned in, urging, "Fire a shot, let's see."
Bu looked towards Bai Zhongqi, the middle-aged rider, who was very cautious. He waited for Bai Zhongqi to finish his explanation before taking action.
Bai Zhongqi explained, "This pistol is an electromagnetic acceleration weapon. It's not picky about bullets, you can use any material and any bullet smaller than its caliber. For charging, there's a battery in the grip, or it can be plugged directly into a charging station, which is basically compatible with any electrical power source connector."
Bu nodded, although these people's origins seemed strange to him, they had offered him an alien weapon right from the start, and such a temptation was hard to refuse. With the electromagnetic pistol in hand, Bu fired at the already dead prairie behemoth on the ground. The recoil was completely different from the pistol he was used to. But Bang cheered, shouting, "What does that matter? With this weapon, we can defeat more formidable mutant species and earn more money."
However, Bu handed the pistol back to Bai Zhongqi.
Bu shook his head and said, "Pal, I don't know what you're up to, but we can't accept something so valuable from you right off the bat."
Bai Zhongqi was also helpless. The item he had casually offered was beyond the imagination of the other party in its high level, even so valuable that it made the other party hesitant. It was evident that this middle-aged hunter named Bu was a decent man, even capable of refusing such a good thing.
Nan Ma then came over and said to Bai Zhongqi in Chinese, "They are just a few natives; why not knock them down and interrogate them for some information?"

Bu looked at Bai Zhongqi and said in a deep voice, "Buddy, asking around about these issues makes you more suspicious than actually giving us an alien weapon."
Bai Zhongqi nodded, "Perhaps, but this is your chance. You can choose to help us and take the compensation, or we can walk away from each other, with no harm done."
The wind on the prairie, not very strong, blew over the low grass, rolling up layers of green waves. Both parties fell into a temporary silence.
Bu eventually said, "Let us discuss it."
He and his Hunting Group members huddled together, whispering.
"These people don't seem like bad guys, but we can't let our guard down," Bu said.
Pao thought more deeply, "These people look strong, and the two-wheeled vehicles they ride on could well be from aliens too. But they seem to be unaware of the aliens' origins, even lacking some basic knowledge. Ultimately, Bu decided to take Bai Zhongqi and his party to the Shelter while keeping a close watch on them.
Bu walked over and said to Bai Zhongqi, "It's a deal."
Bai Zhongqi smiled and handed over the pistol, "Very good."
Bu gave the pistol to Bang and instructed, "Set it to your fingerprint unlock."
Bang, excited, followed the instructions but was also sensible enough to take out his light blade and hand it back to Bu. In the Hunting Group, the few alien weapons were the strongest force, and aside from the group leader, it was rare for anyone to hold more than one alien weapon.
Bu then handed the light blade to another member, who was also thrilled to take it.
