Listening to his compliments, Lu Xingzhi still found it quite pleasing, with an irrepressible smile in her eyes.
Lu Xingzhi stood up, "I’ll go wash my hands first."
Actually, it wasn’t even five o’clock yet, but Huo Jincheng wanted Lu Xingzhi’s fingers to have a rest. Lu Xingzhi was naturally aware of this and didn’t dismiss Huo Jincheng’s kindness.
"Zhi Zhi, come and watch TV with me."
Huo Jincheng took the remote control and started an idol drama movie for Lu Xingzhi, then sat with her to watch it.
As for Lu Xingzhi, she didn’t really like watching idol dramas, but she thought Huo Jincheng might enjoy them, so she didn’t say anything and watched with him.
But after a short while of watching, Lu Xingzhi began yawning.
Huo Jincheng noticed her reaction and, seeing her lack of interest, asked, "You don’t like it, do you?"
"It’s fine, I can watch it with you." Lu Xingzhi didn’t like it; she was just passing the time.
"Watch it with me?" He was amused, "How could a guy like me enjoy such fluffy stuff? I thought you girls would kind of thing."
"I don’t like it. The male lead is arrogant, rude, and conceited, flaunting his superiority. He’s the eldest son of a top-tier wealthy family, yet he lacks the most basic manners. But the actor portrays him like he’s mentally disturbed. Why didn’t they cast Helian Yi, who would fit perfectly, at least having that aura of nobility."
Huo Jincheng stared at her blankly for a few seconds, then, regardless of the occasion, kissed her cherry blossom-like lips, "You’re so wicked!"
Yet he felt it was quite accurate.
"Actually, Little Yi isn’t bad at all, not as arrogant or rude as this drama’s male lead." Huo Jincheng said with a smile to defend Helian Yi.
"Of course, Helian Yi is at least talented. His voice is unique, and he sings quite well. The song I helped him play this time was written and composed by him. It’s quite impressive." Lu Xingzhi acknowledged this point.
"And the female lead?" Huo Jincheng immediately regretted defending Helian Yi; his Zhi Zhi never praised him like that.
Not wanting to hear her praise someone else, he simply changed the subject.
"The female lead likes to show off, even more arrogant than the male lead. A typical case of people with a grudge against the rich—I’m poor, so I just look down on you. She never sees the situation clearly, has an overly strong ego. And, no money, no manners, poor grades, plain appearance. Yet the male lead and both male supporting leads fall for her like crazy."
Lu Xingzhi couldn’t understand why the male lead would ignore his excellent, beautiful, and elegant fiancée in favor of the female lead.
Of course, Lu Xingzhi couldn’t deny the director and screenwriter; she was just venting a bit.
She felt the moral values here were quite skewed; if the male lead didn’t like the female supporting character, he should make that clear, break off the engagement, and then pursue the female lead.
The female lead was the same. First, she liked the male supporting character, was even with him, then realized she liked the male lead.
Weren’t these two just terrible?
"Our Zhi Zhi is still the cutest." Huo Jincheng thought she was right; as a man, he could never like the kind of girl portrayed in the drama.
Compared to that, his fiancée was just irresistibly adorable.
"I’m not that cute, just a tiny little bit." Lu Xingzhi even raised two fingers to make a gesture.
