Huo Jincheng knew that the person left living would be the most miserable one.
So, he didn’t want Lu Xingzhi to go through that.
"Thank you." Apart from these three words, Lu Xingzhi didn’t know how else to express her gratitude.
"Between you and me, there’s never a need for those three words." Huo Jincheng’s sharp eyebrows softened, his gentle eyes smiling.
Whenever he faced Lu Xingzhi, he was always like the warm sun in winter, keeping her heart forever warm.
When they got home and were about to change clothes, Lu Xingzhi suddenly called out to Huo Jincheng.
Before she could finish, Huo Jincheng’s phone rang.
"Go ahead and take the call. I’ll head to the room to change." Lu Xingzhi went into the room, breathed a sigh of relief, and decided to save it for next time.
Bertrand indeed arranged to have lunch with Lu Xingzhi the next day, but when Huo Jincheng showed up, Bertrand scowled.
"I’m taking Little Angel to lunch; why are you here?"
"I’m here with my fiancée." Huo Jincheng pulled out a chair for Lu Xingzhi first, only sitting down after she was seated.
"Teacher, didn’t you always want to try some Hua Country food?" Lu Xingzhi didn’t want them to continue confronting each other and handed the menu to Bertrand, "Why don’t you see what you’d like?"
"Indeed, Little Angel is lovable." Although Bertrand said this, he didn’t open the menu but gestured for Lu Xingzhi to order first.
As a gentleman, ladies first, naturally.
After they ate, Bertrand asked Lu Xingzhi about her life over the past few years. Upon learning her family had all passed away, leaving her alone, he suggested, "Little Angel, why don’t you come find me? How about coming back to France with me now? I’ll give you the best of everything."
Back in France, Bertrand and Lu Jincheng got along well, shared common interests, and he especially liked Lu Xingzhi. So he proposed taking her as a student, and only after much persuasion did Lu Xingzhi agree.
"Teacher, I’m really happy now with my fiancé. You don’t need to worry." Lu Xingzhi knew Bertrand meant well, but she already had Huo Jincheng and she wanted to live with him.
"Little Angel, you have to remember what I say, men like to deceive. You need to keep your eyes wide open!" Although Bertrand said this, he appreciated Huo Jincheng.
However, he wasn’t about to show a good face to the man who "kidnapped" his student.
Huo Jincheng couldn’t care less about him, as long as his Zhi Zhi trusted him.
"You said yesterday that you didn’t go to music school, you can’t just waste your talent, your gift. Little Angel, not everyone has talent. Your fingers have magic power; they let people hear the soul of the music. You’re naturally meant to stand on the big stage."
Bertrand was very disappointed about this; one of his reasons for finding Lu Xingzhi was her future.
He had plans for his student, naturally.
"Teacher, I..." She knew she had disappointed many people’s expectations.
"No matter what, I support you. It’s okay." Huo Jincheng held Lu Xingzhi’s hand tightly; he knew her struggles.
"Don’t start talking in words I can’t understand. Little Angel, you absolutely cannot give up on piano."
