The morning, next day.
I woke up, feeling all relaxed. I looked beside me, but mother had already gone.
I got down from the bed, still naked because we continued our sessions even after that.
I stretched my body. My bones cracked with that.
I looked at the mirror, my hairs were all messy, but u still looked good.
I indeed had good genetics.
I then walked inside the bathroom and took the bath. It indeed became a habit of mine.
After the quick shower, I dried up and walked out to the room again.
I then wore the dress that mother had picked for me.
They were a close fit. I looked at myself again, and damn it have to say, I do look great.
[Peak narcissism.]
Zixane commented, but i didn't mind it at all. Even if she calls me a narcissist, she can't call me a liar, cause that's the truth.
After admiring myself for a while, I decided to go down.
I walked out of the room, down the stairs and reached the hall.
Mother and Setsuna with other maids were present there.
They were preparing the food before I go out.
All of them looked at me when I arrived there. Their faces turned amazed and mesmerised.
Mother quickly approached me, and hugged me, saying, "You look so handsome, darling~"
She rested her head on my chest, saying that.
To the other, it seemed like a lovely relationship between a mother and her son. But only we know that it was nowhere like that.
But when I looked at Setsuna, I discarded that thought...
Maybe not all look at us like that.
I wanted to hold her into my arms and love her deeply, but I guess I will wait till we are alone.
We separated from each other, and mother pulled me over by grabbing my hands.
The table was already filled with hot and smokey dishes.
All of which seemed like a dinner at five star restaurants.
I then looked at Setsuna, who sat beside me today.
Even though, she works here as a maid, but she isn't really one at all.
She is more like a family even if mother and her doesn't seem to be in good relationship, but I know they both admire each other.
The strange thing wasn't that she was sitting next to me and joining us for meal, the strange thing was that she wasn't in her usual outfit of a maid today.
She was using a formal dress, a long mint grown and a white shawl. She looked more beautiful today than ever.
Mother noticed my gaze at her and she notified me, "Setsuna will be going with you for the awakening ritual today. That is why she is dressed like that."
So that's why, I knew she was going with me. But I thought she will go in her usual attire.
She proposed to go with me herself? Was there any particular reason for that?
I looked at her again, but she wasn't bothered or even giving attention at us... rather, she looked down.
Is something worrying her?
I haven't talked with her properly yet during these years. Even when she knew I am the demon king.
Maybe I am being harsh on her... she is afterall my sister, maybe when we go out today, I will reveal to her about my truth.
And after we had our meal, the time had finally came.
We walked out of the mansion to the garden outside.
A flying chariot was parked there.
It was mother's chariot. A very high quality one with the same symbol of Elven royal family.
It was a gift to her from the Elf queen.
"Please, take good care of him, Setsuna." Mother said, she seemed a bit down, now that I was leaving (for a day or two.)
But Setsuna didn't show any emotions, and said, "Don't worry, unless a god himself comes to this planet, no one can harm him when he is with me."
That was quite a bold statement. But why does ut feel like she isn't lying?
[Because she isn't, husband. She is strong enough to say that.]
Is she really that strong?
[She wasn't before, but now... she is. Not at her best condition yet, but yeah, there is hardly anyone who can beat her on this planet.]
This planet? What about the other planets then?
[There are a few individuals who can do it. More will be coming in future. But she isn't yet in her peak yet, so can't say for certain.]
So she is so great? I didn't know she was that strong.
After Setsuna, mother approached me and cupped my face.
"Don't spend too much time there. Ayesha will be there to take care of everything and don't feel sad if you do not awaken a good core, okay? Mother will be with you forever."
I gave her a soft smile and nodded my head.
To be honest, i do not care about this awakening ritual at all. And even if I don't awaken a core, I don't give a shit about it.
My motive for going out this time is to visit that cave again.
I would like to see what surprises are there for me.
Bidding my farewell to her, both Setsuna and me boarded the chariot.
It wasn't any different from a normal chariot that is used on roads, at least the interior was same with two long seats facing each other, which were... comfortable ~
Beside that, there wasn't anything to drive this chariot with... because you won't need anyone to drive it, just give it a command and it will fly itself, or you can circles tell it with your thoughts, but you would need the key with runic inscriptions of that chariot.
And Setsuna had that key with her.
I looked at mother for one last time, and waved at her.
The chariot flied away after that.
Within a matter of moments, we lost the track of our mansion.
Now only me and Setsuna remained there. It will take us hours before we could reach our designated location.
If when the chariot was flying so fast, it will still take us that much time, because this planet is large, freakingly larger than the Earth, maybe around 100 times or more.
It could be even larger.
I looked at Setsuna, who was showing some signs in change of her emotions.
There appeared a strange smile on her face, her eyes glowed a bit with pink colour and with a strange voice as if she was possessed by something, rang into my ears.
"Will you like some massage, young master?"
The voice sounded from behind me.
My eyes couldn't follow her movements. She had already disappeared from her place to my back.
I was surprised, but I kept my composure calm. I know she won't hurt me... not even in her dreams... she can't hurt me.
"I never knew you could move like that, miss Setsuna?" I said, my voice firm.
She gentle placed her hands on my shoulders and massaged them.
"I never got the time to tell anyone about this." Her voice turned soft and so did her hands.
I could perceive sadness from her.
"Don't turn around."
I tried to turn back, but she stopped me from doing so.
Suddenly, panic filled my heart.
"There were many things that I wanted to tell you, but maybe the fate held different plans for us, right coward?"
Her hands wrapped me into her embrace, she softly placed her head on my back.
"Maybe I wasn't meant for you, right?" She voice turned deep.
So did her emotions, her heart clenched from inside and so did mine.
"There was so much, so many things that I wanted to do with you, but I never could. Maybe I was the only foolish one, who loved you so much one sidedly. I tried so much, so many times to show you what I feel for you... but maybe we weren't meant to be.
"You might have felt this already and yeah, you are correct. I am returning now... to my homeland, to my people once again..."
Tears rolled down her face.
I have seen her act like crying more than I remember, but this time... they were genuine.
I waited so long to respond to her that it had been too late already.
Hearing that she was going away from my life, a lost feeling returned to me.
The feeling of loneliness.
"Setsuna..."
"Don't speak."
I tried to turn to her again, but she stopped me once more. I tried to talk but she stopped me for that too.
"I do not want you to look at me right now."
