The morning arrived soon, and someone came to knock on my door.
*knock* *knock*
"Ravi, are you up?" A sweet and soft voice came from behind the door.
It was none other than Ayesha, who was standing behind the door.
I opened my eyes with that sound and looked at my ceiling.
Raising my upper half, I stretched out my arms... it was a good sleep.
Then, moving my body, I went ahead to open the door.
Before me, a happy Ayesha greeted me with a bright smile.
"Good morning, sleepy head. The sun is already up and you are still sleeping? You didn’t go out yesterday night, did you?"
She asked me with a questioning tone.
She didn’t find that out, did she? But I didn’t feel her presence yesterday inside so she must be just asking.
"Why would I go out? I was sleeping because I was too tired yesterday." I replied with confidence.
"Is that so?" She murmured between her breath.
She then looked at me with her big puppy-like eyes, then raising her hand towards me, she touched my cheeks.
"There is no problem with you."
Her short height made it harder for her to touch me.
She was too short, to be honest, around 5 feet 4 inches; I was almost a foot taller than her.
But it made her cute instead.
While she was looking if I was fine or not, she found something. Widening her eyes, she asked me,
"Did you reach the rank 2 already?"
She figured out my breakthrough to rank 2.
"Yeah, I consumed all the materials you gave me yesterday and broke through," I replied honestly.
She was shocked and worried and exclaimed, "What?!"
"How can you do this without telling me? You need to reach the peak, otherwise, you will fall back behind your peers... you reached the peak?!"
She was worried that I was hasty and broke through without having proper knowledge.
Oh, my dear sugar mommy, your son has no comparisons in this existence.
She was naturally more shocked when she found out that I already reached the peak of rank 1 when I broke through to rank 2.
"Mother already informed me about the ranks, so I knew not to break through without reaching that," I responded.
"That’s good." She exhaled with relief, but then suddenly pinched my cheeks, pulling them out.
"Don’t ever do it alone, you can only break through when either me or Eleanor is around you, okay?" She asked while puffing her cheeks out.
"I will." I softly responded.
I suddenly felt my face burning up as I looked at her innocent and childlike face.
She is really cute.
She smiled at me pulled down her hands, and said, "Alright, come downstairs. Breakfast is ready."
Saying that, she walked away and I followed behind her.
Going down to the first floor, we went inside one of the rooms there.
It was the dining hall of the Cathedral.
I never knew they had this place; to be honest, I never wondered if they had things like this here at all.
But now that I think about it, this place has almost everything that is required for people to stay peacefully.
I wasn’t alone there; with Ayesha, there were many more people, all of them were priests and worshippers of the goddess of life.
I greeted them all, and they did the same too.
Then taking the seat beside Ayesha, I joined them in the breakfast.
It mostly contained fruits and wheat products, not even a sign of meat here. Understandable since this is the cathedral of the Goddess of Life, they can’t kill and eat a loving being and call themselves the believers of the goddess of life, right?
I took my first bite of the food and it was indeed delicious.
Only after taking the bite did I notice that all of them weren’t eating and instead were praying to the goddess.
I felt weird, so I put my fork down and followed the same motion, but I wasn’t doing anything besides that.
When others noticed me, they let out chuckles but didn’t say anything.
After Ayesha was done with her prayers, she softly whispered to me.
"You don’t need to do that, only us who are the part of the cathedral do it. You can eat without worry."
She also softly laughed and began to eat her food.
It was embarrassing. Still, I picked up the fork again and began to eat with them.
Seeing them now it feels so different than before. If I had come here as the demon king before, then I am sure this wouldn’t have been the treatment I would have received.
It feels so different and strange when I think about it. The same people, but they treat everyone so differently, not that I am the same. Except for the people that I hold dear, I won’t care if others die at all.
But my feelings for others are the same; without discrimination, I don’t give a fuck about them.
Let’s not be so philosophical, I am not cut out for that.
I only want the castle now. (Take the hint bitches.)
I then picked up the glass of milk on the side and drank it.
As soon as I did, a sweet and creamy taste filled my mouth with some faint amount of mana in it.
This wasn’t the normal milk at all, this was...
I turned to look at Ayesha, only to find her blushing; I could see fumes coming out from her head; she was extremely flustered.
I chuckled inwardly; she felt pleasantly cute and adorable today.
Seeing someone drinking her breast milk in front of everyone must be very embarrassing, so am I going to stop?
Nah, I will drink.
And drank the entire glass in one shot.
