Ghost Exorciser: The Oust Fake Heiress Strikes Chapter 33

A wave of dizziness washed over Lana as she clutched her head, and the next second, the entire scene formed into a vortex before a familiar voice echoed in Lana’s ears.

"Miss Lana? Are you okay?"

The concern etched in the familiar feminine voice made Lana snap out of her daze, and she looked at Mathilda, who was standing near her.

In an instant, the scene where Mathilda was lying on the floor like a lifeless corpse flashed in Lana’s mind, and she covered her mouth to stop herself from vomiting.

Mathilda worriedly patted Lana’s back, trying to soothe her. It took Lana quite a while to suppress the urge to throw up.

After she felt better, the first thing Lana did was to hold Mathilda’s forearm and ask in a trembling voice,

"You... you don’t have a son named Xander, right?"

Mathilda froze, as if someone had clicked on a pause button; her pupils contracted. She indeed had a son... whose nickname was Xander... but only she had ever called her son that, and even their close relatives didn’t know that she called her son Xander...

So... how did Lana know?

A sense of dread washed over her, and her voice trembled as she asked, "You... did you have a vision or something?"

That was the only explanation she could come up with.

Meanwhile, Lana closed her eyes. So the future she had seen... was most likely... the future of the Ferns family.

Not wanting to hide anything, Lana started to speak.

"You all will... You all will... ah! You all will..."

Lana was befuddled; her arms shot up to her throat as she repeatedly tried to speak of the impending doom of the Ferns family, but she soon realized what was happening... and Mr. Crow’s next statement confirmed her guess.

"You can’t reveal heaven’s secret to others!"

Lana’s shoulder slumped, but the next second, a statement Monk Anaro had said flashed in her mind.

Monk Anaro had decided to take a portion of her money... in order not to incur any kind of karmic link.

"No... it should be... I can’t reveal Heaven’s secret without getting anything in return..." Lana muttered under her breath, causing Mr. Crow, perched on her shoulder, to pause.

"I can’t tell about the reason for their deaths... but their final outcomes can still be told... to them!" Her words made Mr. Crow stare at Lana in astonishment.

What Lana was speaking wasn’t something new; however, the comprehension ability made Mr. Crow feel a hint of admiration in his heart.

Mathilda, seeing Lana murmuring with lowered head, clenched her fist in worry.

"Child?" There was a forced calm in her voice, yet the crack in her voice toward the end exposed how vulnerable she was feeling.

Lana snapped out of her daze; her eyes flashed with determination as she looked at Mathilda.

"Before I predict for you, can you give me $50?" Thɪs chapter is updated by n͟o͟v͟e͟l͟f͟i͟r͟e͟.net

"$50?" Mathilda froze for a brief second before the worry on her face started to vanish, replaced by a blank look.

Lana noticed the change in mood and bit her lips. She could almost make out Mathilda’s inner monologue.

’She is a scammer. Everything she had done was an act.’

Mr. Crow rolled his eyes at Lana’s inner thoughts. This girl... can joke anywhere and at any time. But what made him pause was her heartbeat... it was beating like a drumbeat.

"Here." Though the judgment in Mathilda’s eyes was overflowing, Lana let it go.

Why? Just think about a young woman who appears out of your house, starts to look as if she is about to vomit, and the next second, when you express your concern, tries to speak but pauses midway and suddenly asks for $50.

Won’t she seem like a scammer? Even Lana would have rolled her eyes and called her out on the spot.

It was Mathilda’s gentle nature that she offered Lana a last shred of dignity.

After taking the $50 note, Lana cleared her throat and began.

Feeling no restriction, Lana’s heart pulsed with excitement, while Mathilda’s face turned pale.

"Miss Lana, please don’t curse us ." Her voice was usually filled with gentleness and carried a rare trace of warning and fear.

Lana’s excitement died down in an instant, and determination flashed in her eyes.

"I am not cursing. Does your son know Spanish? Maybe he doesn’t... and now he is suddenly speaking Spanish."

Mathilda’s eyes flashed with confusion, her brows furrowed, as doubts about Lana’s ability started to creep in.

"No. You are wrong. He doesn’t know and doesn’t speak Spanish."

Lana’s gaze turned cool, but instead of continuing to argue, she proposed with raw confidence, "Let’s make a bet. I will speak Spanish, and he will reply in Spanish."

Mathilda massaged her temples with her index finger, doubting Monk Anaro for the first time in her life.

This child was clearly... inexperienced.

"Fine." She began, "However, you will have to leave in case he doesn’t."

There was a hint of relief in her voice.

For her, Lana was a troublesome choice. She had visited Monk Anaro in the first place because other celestial masters in her contacts were busy and wouldn’t be free for the next year.

Even with money and influence, she couldn’t hire any.

Though Monk Anaro had stopped taking exorcism cases, he still offered some effective solutions.

Hence, when he introduced Lana, she was delighted secretly and conducted an investigation.

The moment Lana’s background history was revealed to her, Mathilda only thought that she had invited a god of doom to her home.

Lana wasn’t even a soul cultivator! Even she... Mathilda, having awakened no superpowers, still awakened as a soul cultivator! [1]

While Lana? She was a waste!

As if that wasn’t enough, Lana also has offended the Almond family. By giving Lana a chance, the Ferns family was already risking everything.

Now sensing Lana’s incompetence, she just wishes to drive Lana away.

And if it could be done by a simple bet... she was ready. Anyhow, Lana will lose.
