Ghost Exorciser: The Oust Fake Heiress Strikes Chapter 45

His inner conflict lasted a few seconds before the driver ultimately headed to the temple.

On reaching the temple, the driver stared at Lana hesitantly, his heart in turmoil.

Mr. Crow stared at unconscious Lana with a worried gaze. Sensing another pair of eyes on Lana, his aura turned cold, while his eyes filled with alertness swept over the driver.

The beady black eyes created an invisible pressure in the atmosphere, making the driver break out in a cold sweat.

"That... I... we have arrived." The driver gave a flattering smile, while his cold hands wiped away the sweat.

Mr. Crow pursed his beak before motioning him to open the door. The driver took the hint, exited the car, and opened it with utter sincerity, as if he were serving royalty.

Using his psychic power, Mr. Crow carried Lana out of the car; his sharp gaze remained focused on the temple.

"Ugh... do... You want my help?" The driver noticed the instability of the levitation.

Occasionally the distance to the ground was less than a meter, and other times... she almost levitated above the temple’s height.

Mr. Crow’s beady eyes flashed with thoughtfulness before he nodded.

The driver heaved a sigh of relief and carried Lana in a princess style. Reaching outside Lana’s room, he placed her on the bed, while Mr. Crow placed the keys he had used to unlock the room.

Not daring to linger anymore, the driver bowed toward Mr. Crow.

"I will take my leave then."

With that, he slipped away, his escape making it seem as if a hellhound was chasing him.

Mr. Crow also left the room before returning with Monk Anaro.

"Haha! You are Lana’s contracted beast, right? Why did you insist I visit her room..."

Midway through his sentence, Monk Anaro froze, the amiable around him turned grim, while a sigh escaped his lips.

Mr. Crow wanted to hear more, but to his dismay, Monk Anaro closed his eyes and muttered strange incantations.

The next second, a blinding golden light enveloped the room. Its brilliance was blinding to the point that Mr. Crow had to close his eyes.

When the golden light subsided, Lana’s fully healed body appeared in Mr. Crow’s vision.

’Thank god... she has been cured...’

Only Mr. Crow knew how worried and tense he was.

"Looks like I need to visit the Ferns family..." Monk Anaro muttered, and Mr. Crow nodded in agreement.

’Go and hold them accountable! They harmed Lana because of their foolishness! Take compensation too!’

The gentle sunlight streamed in from the window, making Lana stir in her sleep. Her eyelids fluttered, and she groggily woke up.

"Are you awake? How are you now?" Mr. Crow’s hoarse voice echoed near Lana’s ears. Chapters fırst released on NoveI-Fire.ɴet

"Hm? Good! I have never felt any better! Eh? My injuries... how are my injuries all healed? Mr. Crow, did you find a healer?" Lana’s astonished, loud, hoarse voice sounded like chalk scraping against the blackboard; however, to Mr. Crow’s ears, it sounded like a melody.

After not hearing her voice for two days, his ears were longing to hear it.

Yet he put on a calm and steady expression.

"It was Monk Anaro; he noticed you were injured and healed you."

"Ah... I never knew monk Anaro was a healer. Anyways, I will thank him later." Lana murmured and checked the date. However, the 120 missed calls captivated her attention.

Lana rolled her eyes when she saw the caller’s name... Cassandra Steele.

"Looks like some are dying to use their powers after awakening them, huh?" Her cheerful voice was slightly cold, but the smile on her face remained.

After taking a shower, Lana made her way to Monk Anaro, and just when she reached outside his room, she heard his thunderous voice laced with slight rage.

"Do you think money can solve the problem here, Mrs. Ferns? She was gravely injured, and with her current circumstances, no healer would have agreed to heal her. Why didn’t you use your connections and find her a healer?"

Lana arched an eyebrow, impressed by Monk Anaro’s rage and action of standing up for her.

"That... Monk Anaro... I... I wanted to find one for her, but the Almond family would have taken action against us. And... she was a mystic cultivator... so I thought..."

"So you thought her injuries would be magically cured?" There was a rare trace of anger in Monk Anaro’s voice. "She is a mystic cultivator, not a superman. How can you expect that she will heal on her own?"

Mathilda remembered, silently realizing the gravity of the situation.

"Leave, if you have any shame left, and forget about getting any help from this temple or Lana." Monk Anaro’s authoritative voice was laced with finality.

"Monk, please don’t do this! Show us some mercy! I am ready to do whatever Lana asks me to!" Mathilda’s gentle voice cracked; it was full of sobbing and sorrow.

"Leave; don’t make me repeat myself!" Monk Anaro’s voice seemed merciless.

Lana smirked, ’How interesting. I thought Monk Anaro atmost would brush off the matter... but looks like... he isn’t as amiable as he looks, so, huh?’

Yet a trace of warmth shot through her heart, while Mr. Crow pursed his beak, thinking in his heart,

’I can take a stand for her too. Why is she so touched because of that monk’s single action? Hmph! This is a bare minimum.’

But what Mr. Crow didn’t realize was... sometimes many people don’t even do the bare minimum.

The sound of light yet reluctant footsteps echoed in the empty silence, breaking Mr. Crow’s daze.

Lana made no attempt to hide; hence, when the door was opened, Mathilda was stunned to see Lana.

A flicker of excitement flashed in her eyes, but before she could begin, Lana gave a polite smile that didn’t reach her eyes and stated,

"Mrs. Ferns? Are you leaving? Next time, please stay behind for tea."

With that, Lana entered the room and closed the door.
