They once lived in a settlement on the highland and relocated to the border plains due to environmental changes over a long period of time.
The legend of the Ancient Hero was passed down here from generation to generation, and the villagers believed they possessed the Hero's Lineage. They also believed that one day, the Great Demon beneath the volcano would awaken.
However, whether the Lineage or the Great Demon was real remained unproven.
Yet, there were two things in the village that served as tangible proof.
One was an ancient token. It was said to be an artifact exchanged between humankind and the Magic Creatures, with whom they were co-saved under the witness of the Ancient Hero in the distant past.
These Magic Creatures, who had a lifespan far longer than that of humankind and were unafraid of the highland's cold, stayed in that place near the heavens and took on the responsibility of guarding the seal.
The second was the Innate Profession individuals. Every so often, children born into the village would possess a powerful Talent, with a soul power far beyond the ordinary, and they would awaken to a special Innate Profession at an early age.
It was these powerful individuals that prevented the village from being swallowed by the ravages of time, allowing it to be passed down through the generations.
Still, no matter how long-standing the history, the weight of time was difficult to erase.
Like the ancient legends that had mostly been lost, the village gradually declined, with fewer and fewer Talent Professionals, and the few young people left did not particularly believe in those legends.

Some Mages and scholars believed that the Alien Soul was a forme of extremely high-precision magic technique condensation, just like how the Phoenix could naturally resurrect.
