Global Game: I Have Portable Store Chapter 20

When the short-haired man rushed up, the other three didn’t react immediately. Clearly, they didn’t expect the short-haired man to directly make a move.

On the contrary, Su Changxing reacted first, immediately taking two steps back to the side and attacking Huangmao, who was relatively slender on the left.

He had previously thought through the outcomes of various strategies in his mind. In a situation surrounded on four sides, even if he killed one with a saber, he would be immediately attacked by the other three.

Humans are not zombies; they have a certain degree of coordination. Three people with sticks might overwhelm him; as the saying goes, two fists can’t defeat four hands.

Unless his combat skills are exceptional, and obviously, his combat experience isn’t even better than these people.

The safest way is to break through from the person near the wall, so that only two can attack him at the same time.

And the slender-looking Huangmao on the left became his breakthrough point.

Su Changxing swung his saber fiercely, sweeping horizontally and creating a gust of wind in mid-air.

Huangmao was also startled; Su Changxing’s saber speed exceeded his expectations. He raised his stick to block, instinctively stepping back.

His hands went numb, almost dropping the stick, and he felt a twinge of pain in his chest. He discovered a deep wound had been slashed into his chest.

Seeing his attack succeed, Su Changxing swiftly ran forward.

But these people were not ordinary hooligans; they were likely desperados with not only combat experience but also ferocity.

After being hit, Huangmao surprisingly still stepped up without hesitation to block him, holding the stick.

The distance between the two was close, and Su Changxing showed no sign of retreat, knocking Huangmao down with brute strength. At the same time, a sharp pain struck his back as the short-haired man hit his shoulder blade with a stick.

Su Changxing gritted his teeth, enduring the pain without the slightest pause, and sprinted wildly toward the opposite side of the street.

The four didn’t imagine that a lapse would let this kid really slip away, and they followed without hesitation.

If they really let this kid get away, what would happen to their reputation?

Except for Huangmao, the other three chased after him.

Huangmao sat on the ground, clutching his chest, exclaiming in fear, "Damn it, that kid’s power is astonishingly strong, lucky to block that blow."

His arms were still numb, noticing the stick in his hand now had a half-centimeter knife mark, almost cut through.

"Well, great, the weapon’s trashed too, but that kid’s steel saber is really good, I wonder where it came from."

The three chased Su Changxing across the street and realized something was amiss as Su Changxing had almost reached the alley while they were still on the road.

The short-haired man cursed, "Damn, this kid runs too fast."

Su Changxing also glanced back at them, confident his speed was indeed fast, suddenly stopping at the alley entrance.

It was sheer provocation.

The three originally ready to give up pursuit saw the kid stop at the alley entrance, screaming and followed again.

Su Changxing ran into the alley, feeling the light dim around him, and could not clearly see objects ahead. Faint zombie growls could be heard.

"There are zombies inside, that kid won’t get far, let’s chase."

The short-haired man analyzed calmly and decided, as they had walked this alley during the day, there’s only one path.

After running a distance, Su Changxing saw a shadow dart from the darkness ahead, reacting quickly by cutting into the zombie’s skull with a saber.

Although dealing with a zombie didn’t take much time, it inevitably delayed him, allowing the three behind to close the gap.

The short-haired man smiled seeing this, thinking the kid’s choice of the alley was self-destructive. If he escaped down the main street, they wouldn’t ever catch him.

"I’ll fight you all!"

Su Changxing suddenly shouted, charging forward with his steel saber, his movements growing strange.

After the shout, deeper in the alley resonated with other growls in response; evidently, Su Changxing attracted many zombies.

The man wearing a headscarf was stunned, saying, "Is he crazy, has he no desire to live?"

Just then, Su Changxing’s figure vanished around the alley corner, and the three glanced at each other, deciding to follow him to see what happened.

Unexpectedly, passing the corner, they couldn’t see the kid, only facing zombies, puzzled about where the kid went.

However, they could no longer concern themselves with Su Changxing, focusing instead on the zombies approaching them.

Su Changxing was crawling under a third-floor window, watching the three battle zombies below, moving back while maintaining a slow, jogging pace.

"These three have rich combat experience, definitely not ordinary thugs. Thankfully, I didn’t engage them directly earlier."

Watching the scene, Su Changxing returned to the corner’s other side, sliding down until his feet hit the ground.

Quickly and quietly, he moved behind the three, picking up a steel saber leaning against the wall. Feeling the handle’s lingering warmth, his eyes showed a murderous intent, dashing forward, raising the saber high, and slicing through the darkness into a bloody shadow.

Su Changxing felt several warm drops land on his cheek and hands, unlike zombies’ cold blood.

A scream echoed, heard by the surrounding zombies, the other two, and people trembling in fear inside rooms. They speculated about the horror occurring outside.

After the strike, Su Changxing didn’t check the result, running back, feeling something fall behind him—the identity uncertain, either human or zombie.

The short-haired man was startled, sensing danger as he glanced back, finding no one there. Then he saw a companion on the ground struggling, bleeding profusely, mouth mumbling indistinctly, seemingly pleading for help.

With another companion down and countless zombies lurking, fear overcame him, aware death was near, and he turned silently to flee.

The man with the headscarf continued fighting zombies with a stick, seeing a companion fall and the short-haired man leave. He immediately followed, saying, "Wang Liu can’t hold out; you cover for the brothers."

The fallen Wang Liu looked on in horror as zombies attacked him, unable to fathom that a robbery of a teenager led to his death. Ironically, the idea wasn’t even his.
