God-Tier System: Kill Beasts, Cultivate Forever Chapter 44

Gracie's hands clenched into fists. "But that's where things started going south, Another daki appeared, holding my older sister by her neck.

There was no doubt he could kill her with just a flick of his finger, My grandfather, stunned and unable to comprehend the situation, hesitated.

The nine-foot daki seized the opportunity and dealt a fatal wound to my grandfather. Clutching his chest, grandpa turned towards the daki holding my sister and moved with such speed that he decapitated the daki before it could react."

Her voice broke slightly. "Grandpa carried my sister to a newly built house where the other children were hiding. When he emerged, he saw hundreds of Dakis ready to destroy the house.

They were all grinning; all of them were fearless despite knowing most of Daki would die if a fight broke out.

On the other hand, Grandpa could kill them all but feared harming the children inside."

She closed her eyes, a tear slipping down her cheek. In a breaking voice. "From my hiding spot, I couldn't see clearly what happened next, but after several minutes of fierce fighting, only two or three dakis remained.

But... but my grandfather was dead, lying on the ground. My heart ached with an intense pain, a desire for vengeance growing inside me, I blamed myself for being weak and all the humans who didn't come to support us."

Gracie's eyes turned red, filled with a mixture of rage and sorrow. "But killing my grandfather wasn't the worst. Despite his death, we would have won this fight one-sided. With only around 300 dakis left, things changed.

The daki who killed my grandfather approached his body and began eating his corpse."

Harry's face paled almost choking on his saliva, but he listened intently.

"I saw blood dripping from his sharp teeth. Other dakis celebrated, some ceasing their attack to defend the one eating. As if They had succeeded in their quest. After consuming my grandfather, that daki's power grew exponentially.

That daki started killing my other family members, and other dakis consumed their corpses. It started a chain reaction. They began killing and eating my siblings and other family members.

I was so traumatised that I couldn't bear to watch any longer neither had any courage to go and avenge. I used the teleporter to escape to Earth.

Days later, news spread of several invasions on human-claimed planets, similar incidents occurring everywhere. In the start humans dominated in every fight but lost it eventually.

After several losses, we discovered this new race could increase their power by consuming other strong entities. That's why we named them 'Dakis'.

In that all the chaos I tried to search for any information about my family, but it was as if we never existed. No news related to us ever came out. Now, I don't know if anyone survived that day, but I've lost all hope after all these years."

She clenched her fists tightly. "Now, my only motivation is to avenge my family. To make those dakis suffer as I had."

Harry had never seen this side of her. She had always appeared so happy and joyous.

"You know, when this war started, these dakis were not even close to matching humans. But throughout the war, they evolved to our level.

But It didn't go without any sacrifices. In exchange, they lost most of their population. If humans had united back then, we could have wiped them out. But now, they will die by my own hands, I will make them feel the same pain as no human ever felt," Gracie said, pumping her fists.

Harry listened in silence, feeling the intensity of her emotions. The weight of her story hung heavily in the air, a testament to the horrors she had endured and the burning desire for vengeance that now fueled her every action.

"I am with you in this, you are not alone," he said, standing up, his resolve matching hers.

"Are you sure?, because we don't have much time. Every second every moment they are gobbling up something and going beyond limits." Gracie said chuckling.

Hearing it a question appeared in front of them

"What is the thing that enables those dakis to consume and inherit the power" Harry said putting a question on the desk.

He would have loved to ask about these things to krish, who seemed to have knowledge about these complicated things and he must have seen his whole share of races since he himself is a part of another race. Currently it was out of the question.

"I have researched about it, reading some articles and have gotten my hands on some research papers, but there was not much information related to their skill to inherit power, But when we see it that way, then what is the thing that allows us, humans to have elemental affinity" Gracie stated pondering.

"Yes, I never thought of it that way, we have dantian and meridians that allows us to cultivate but Having elemental power doesn't make sense, could it be that every race has their own trump card, but it could be also possible that it's only available to some specific races."

"Leave it be, it's not going to help us anyway" gracie said patting on Harry's shoulders.

Gracie and Harry left the room.

Crossing several buildings they noticed that For some reason the atmosphere has grown serious.

Students were nowhere to be seen. And the Little there were, heading towards their destination.

Seeing this thing curiosity caught them, Harry and Gracie joined these students.

There were multiple groups of people some of them have gone to the cultivation tower to cultivate whilst others continued in other ways. The tension was high, not many of them were in the mood to talk.

As they continued from carved stone paths Passing buildings by building many students joined the frail, passing by gardens they could see some of the students were sparring with each other then on every path students were just in hurry to do something.

Some of the students were preparing to go out of the academy for doing some quests so they were searching for comrades to help them in quest while some of them were looking for a party to join in the quest.

Harry and Gracie continued and they could clearly feel lesser eyes on them, not because others forgot about them but they were too busy to notice them. They still got some glances here and there but nothing more.
