As she spoke, she headed towards the bedroom door. When she walked past Tang Zui, he grabbed her by the arm and pulled her back. He asked expressionlessly, “What did you take just now?”
Gu Mian stared at him nervously and answered, “A morning after pill. I’m worried that I’ll get pregnant again.”
Tang Zui held his breath for a split second. His grip on her arm began to tighten. He thought of their miscarried child and felt an acute sense of suffocation in his chest.
“Can I go make us breakfast?” Gu Mian’s facial expression was rather innocent. She thought that Tang Zui would not object to her decision to take birth control pills. She thought that he would be happy to see her take the precaution to prevent another pregnancy.
