Su Qianxun’s phone suddenly rang. She quickly took it out. When she saw the caller display, she hesitated for a while but answered the call anyway. “Hello? What do you want?”
“You’re still alive.”
Rong Yebai finally sighed in relief. Yesterday, he had gone out to look for her in the storm and had gotten into an accident on his way. He hurt his leg. Now he was in the hospital.
Hearing that, Su Qianxun was pissed off. ‘What does he mean by “you’re still alive”?’
“Of course I’m still alive.”
“It’s good that you’re alive…”
Su Qianxun was quiet for a moment.
“If there’s nothing else, I shall hang up now,” Su Qianxun said and simply hung up the phone.
When she put down the cell phone, she realized that everyone in the ward was staring at her.
Later on, the director gave her a call again and asked about her situation. Su Qianxun said she was fine and told him not to worry.
The director told her that Rong Yebai had gotten injured and was admitted into the hospital. The storm had dealt a big blow to the production team. Some equipment was damaged. Some people got injured and some even lost their lives.
Su Qianxun did not expect that the typhoon last night had caused such serious damage.
For the next few days, Long Sijue did not allow Su Qianxun to go anywhere and insisted that she get some rest at Jin Garden.
Three days later, Su Qianxun’s face had completely recovered. Her skin was as soft and smooth as before.
Even now, when she recalled the sight of her face that night, she still felt shaken.
In the afternoon, Su Qianxun was playing with Storm in the garden. The butler came to find her and said, “Young Mistress Su, the young master has sent someoneto pick you up.”
“Pick me up? Where am I going?” Su Qianxun was grooming Storm. Hearing what the butler said, she raised her head to look at him.
“I don’t know as well. But be quick. The young master is waiting.”
Su Qianxun was puzzled.
After she returned to the mansion, the butler made her change into a light purple dress and made her put on a little white fur scarf. She then got into a car that came to pick her up.
The driver took Su Qianxun to a renowned resort that she had visited before. Once she got out of the vehicle, a staff member ushered her into the resort.
She reached the entrance to a yard. The staff who ushered her here told her that this was where she should be headed. He then bowed and left.
When Su Qianxun stepped into the yard and raised her head, she saw Lan Qingcheng in Long Sijue’s arms. She sucked in a sharp breath and tightened her grip on the hem of her dress. She clutched onto it so tightly that she nearly tore the dress into pieces.
Long Sijue furrowed his brows and shoved Lan Qingcheng away. Lan Qingcheng said something to him before turning away shyly and left.
Seeing that, Su Qianxun felt as though she could barely breathe. When Long Sijue turned around, he finally saw her. He froze for a moment and immediately strode towards her. He furrowed his brows and asked, “Why are you here?”
Startled, Su Qianxun gawked at him and blurted out, “Didn’t you ask your driver to drive me here?”
“I…”
“I told my driver to drive you here,” An old but willful voice rang out from somewhere.
Su Qianxun traced the source of the voice and spotted an old man standing in the distance. He was wearing a black traditional chinese costume. His hair had turned white, but he still seemed energetic, especially with the piercing look in his bright eyes.
“Grandfather, what are you…” Long Sijue stared at Elder Long with furrowed brows. He was uncertain of what the old man was up to.
“I know that your name is Su Qianxun. You saved me some time ago,” Old Master Long said as he looked at the pretty young woman from afar with a broad smile on his face.
“You’re… the elderly man who fainted the other day?”
At that time, Elder Long was lying on the ground. She had not seen his face and left right after she helped him.
“All thanks to you that day, I managed to survive. Today is my birthday, so I invited you to my birthday celebration to thank you in person.”
