The award ceremony had begun. Rong Yebai was panicking because Su Qianxun had not yet showed up and the people he sent out to find out came back empty-handed. When he saw Tang Zui escorting her back to the venue, he immediately grabbed her by the arm and hurried into the hall.
“All the best, Qianxun!” Gu Mian gestured to her encouragingly.
Su Qianxun turned back around and smiled at her before Rong Yebai frantically dragged her away.
Tang Zui and Gu Mian remained outside the venue. She tucked her hair to the back of her ear awkwardly and said, “Um…”
“Let’s go in to watch the ceremony.” Tang Zui held Gu Mian’s hand and headed to the entrance.
Gu Mian’s small hand was wrapped in his dry, hot palm. She sensed that the rate of her heartbeats accelerated sharply. She could barely breathe evenly.
Once Tang Zui entered the venue, some usherers approached them respectfully and led the two of them to the VIP seats. After they sat down, Gu Mian wanted to withdraw her hand, but Tang Zui held onto it tightly and refused to let go.
Tang Zui crossed his legs. He was still holding Gu Mian’s hand and placed it on his lap while he stared right ahead.
All Gu Mian could do now was to let him hold her hand for now. She scanned her surroundings. All those faces she normally could only see from the screens at home or in the cinemas had appeared before her eyes in person. She thought it was a truly magical experience.
They were sitting in silence. An actress walked over and leaned down next to Tang Zui. She greeted him, “Mister Tang, how long has it been? Have you forgotten about me already?”
The actress was wearing a dress with a low neckline. When she leaned over, the sight of her alluring cleavage was right in his face. She kept nudging Tang Zui’s arm with her breast purposefully.
Gu Mian quickly averted her gaze and suddenly felt a suffocating sensation inside her. Now she finally realized that Tang Zui had countless relationships in the past.
“I really don’t remember you. Who are you?” Tang Zui edged towards Gu Mian and avoided the approaching actress and her breasts.

“Be clear. What did we do? I don’t know you!” Tang Zui took a glance at Gu Mian. He noticed that even though she was not looking at him directly, she had been doing so from the corner of her eye.
He was suddenly amused.
“We dined together once.” The actress felt embarrassed. It was a rare opportunity for her to meet Tang Zui again. Besides, his date tonight was a naive-looking young woman. She thought she had a chance, so she came over to flirt with him.
“You scared me. I thought we used to be involved. Please don’t say things like that in front of my wife.” Tang Zui let go of Gu Mian’s hands. He then immediately threw an arm around her and held her closer.
“Turns out this is Mrs Tang. I was being disrespectful. I have something else to attend to. See you around.” The actress did not expect that this young woman was Tang Zui’s wife. Her face was instantly flushed and she hurried off sheepishly.
“You’re mistaken. I’m not your wife,” Gu Mian looked up at him and corrected him. “You are if I say you are. What? Are you used to being a mistress?” Tang Zui lowered his head to gaze at her and asked.
Gu Mian felt an ache in her chest. She shoved him away with force and said, “They’re about to announce the winner of the category that Qianxun’s work was nominated for.”
Tang Zui gazed at her. She was holding back and trying not to look upset. He wanted so badly to slap himself across the face. ‘What the f*ck did I just say?’ But when he attempted to apologize, he could not force the words out of his mouth. He could only turn his attention to the stage for now.
On the stage, the emcee had already started reading the titles of the films that were nominated for Best Short Film Award. There were three of them.
Ever since Su Qianxun took a seat, the celebrities around her kept glancing at her. Meanwhile, she had a hand on her chest nervously, trying very hard to calm herself down, because she really needed this award.
Qiao Yiren was so pissed that she nearly went crazy. Because of a set of jewelry she was wearing, she had gotten the attention from everyone. But Su Qianxun arrived not long after. She was able to attend the award ceremony despite the fact that her dress was ruined. Worse still, she had changed into such a dazzling dress and became the spotlight the moment she showed up.
