Xia Chuxi fixed his gaze on the big screen, watching an array of men in the video. His breathing became uneven and rapid. The murderous air around him grew heavier.
Everyone was watching how he reacted, since he had just become a cuckold.
“I really didn’t do it. I really didn’t. Xinruo, you have to believe me!”
Qiao Yiren kept explaining herself. Her whole body was shaking. She wanted so badly to disappear from this place, but people were blocking both ways to the aisles. No one in the Xia and Qiao families could leave.
“Sl*t!” Xia Chuxi suddenly burst with anger. He turned and slapped Qiao Yiren across the face.
There was a loud smack. Qiao Yiren collapsed into the chair right away. This slap had carried the full force of Xia Chuxi’s rage. Qiao Yiren only felt a nauseating dizziness in her hand. Blood trickled out of the corner of her lips and dripped down her chin.
“Qiao Yiren, you shameless woman. I’d treated you well, but you turned me into a laughing stock in front of the world! I’m gonna kill you!”
Xia Chuxi lunged forward and put his hands around Qiao Yiren’s neck. He had lost his dignity as a man. This woman, whom he adored and protected for more than dozens of years, whom he had hurt his former fiancée for, had ground his dignity into mush.
He absolutely hated Qiao Yiren now. He kept tightening his grip. Qiao Yiren felt a suffocating sensation in her throat. She grabbed Xia Chuxi’s hands and tried to pry them off her neck. But his hands were strong as a metal clamp and were unyielding. Qiao Yiren’s eyes began rolling over. Her legs were kicking non-stop. Her high heels had come off.
“I’m gonna kill you. I’m gonna kill you, c*nt!” Xia Chuxi was still hysterical. Due to the shock, he had completely lost his mind.
He had treated a good woman like trash and cherished who he thought as a good woman– who turned out to be trash. There was no one else in the world dumber and blinder than him!
He was like a circus monkey, tricked by Qiao Yiren and her mother!
“Xia Chuxi, release her this instant. Let go of her!”
Su Manni was pulling him, scratching him and pinching him with desperation to get him off her daughter.
But Xia Chuxi refused to let go. At that moment, there was a grimace on his face, and his eyes were so wide open that they almost popped out of his head. His hatred towards Qiao Yiren had reached a boiling point!
Qiao Yiren could barely breathe. Her legs had stopped kicking. Mrs Xia gawked at them, clutching her chest. She quickly nudged her daughter, who was already dumbstruck. “Quick, stop your older brother. He can’t get someone killed.”
Xia Xinruo snapped out of her reverie. Terrified by the scene before her, she started wailing. She quickly looked up at her older brother and pulled at his arms. But now Xia Chuxi was like a mad beast. No one could stop him.
“Big brother, calm down. You can’t kill her. Just let go!”
Just as Qiao Yiren was about to stop breathing, Xia Chuxi suddenly felt that his hands were going numb. He quickly loosened his grip around Qiao Yiren’s neck.
Qiao Yiren was suddenly able to breathe. She started coughing vigorously. Her eyes widened with horror. It was the first time she felt so close to death.
Su Manni was also terrified. She threw her arms around her daughter and held her tightly.
Xia Chuxi was not done with her yet. He started yelling at her while kicking and punching her. “You’re a sl*t, Qiao Yiren. You shameless sl*t!”
“Chuxi, stop beating her. Stop beating her. Yiren is pregnant with your baby,” Su Manni pleaded with desperation.
“You still try to say that this baby is mine? Does she know whose it is? Which man is the father? I doubt that she even knows!”
“No, no, the baby is yours. Really! This video is edited. I really didn’t cheat on you… I really didn’t…” Qiao Yiren defended herself desperately. ‘Not all of them are real!’
