Greatest Legacy of the Magus Universe Chapter 702

"What's gotten into you, Raidon?" Adam almost flinched when the man screamed.

Raidon, on the other hand, completely ignored the youth. He continued to stare at the mana combat technique with bloodshot eyes.

Such techniques, such movements, such rhythm, such flow… Oh, great arcana! I have never seen something so… perfect!

That was the only word Raidon could use to describe the technique—perfect.

After studying the entire mana combat technique, his hands started to tremble. He looked at Adam and asked in a low voice, "My Lord, this… Is this alright?"

"What do you mean?" Adam's brows creased together. "You don't want it? Fine, I'll take it back."

"No!" Raidon subconsciously put the scrolls behind his back. Realizing his folly, he lowered his head in apology. "My Lord, what I mean is, this mana combat technique is far too precious! Is it alright for you to hand this over to us?"

He thought for a moment before adding, "This technique is valuable enough to become a family heirloom for a great Magus Family!"

Valuable to you, perhaps, Adam thought to himself. But there are hundreds of such techniques lying around in 'my' memories, catching dust and whatnot.

"It's fine, Raidon." He waved his hand. "Since you all are now my brothers, I want you to have the best—be the best!"

"My Lord…" Raidon was almost brought to tears by such an act of selflessness.

"However!" Adam warned him, as well as all the other members of the Black Legion currently present.

He scanned his men standing before him with an overbearing gaze. "If I ever discover that this mana combat technique has fallen into the hands of outsiders, the consequences will be beyond your ability to bear!"

He paused for a moment before declaring, "This technique only belongs in the hands of the Black Legion! Do you hear me?!"

Just judging by Raidon's reaction to the scrolls, the men knew that this mana combat technique was far superior to the one they used.

For the new Lord Commander to bestow them with such a gift was more than what they could ask for. It showed that the youth really cared for them.

"Good!" Adam nodded. He then looked at Raidon, who was still looking at the scrolls in a daze, and said, "I'll help you get acclimated to the stance and footwork first. Then later I'll teach you the sword techniques…"

"Raidon? Raidon!" Adam screamed at the Captain of the Black Legion, who seemed to be engrossed in reading the scrolls.

"Y-Yes, my lord!" Raidon snapped back to reality. "F-Forgive me, my lord! This is… simply too shocking!"

Adam resisted the urge to roll his eyes. "Whatever, I'll teach you the basics first. You can then teach the men."

"At once, my lord!" Raidon was extremely eager to learn the new technique. Suddenly, he thought of something and asked, "My Lord, you didn't write the name of this combat technique."

"Name it whatever you want," Adam spoke casually.

It was not that the technique was so bad that it didn't have a name, it was just that the memories of this technique that he had acquired from the expert were fragmented.

So, Adam had to fill the blanks with his own knowledge and experience when it came to pure combat.

Still, that didn't make the technique any less valuable. It was still leagues above what the Black Legion was currently practicing.

Raidon thought for a few moments, his gaze subconsciously drawn towards Adam's black robes and the black pointy hat. "My Lord, how about… The Dark King's Twin Blades."

"Dark King?" Adam's eyebrow rose in intrigue. "It has a nice ring to it. I like it!"

"Then it is decided!" Raidon grinned.

Adam then started teaching the man about the footsteps and the basic stance of the Dark King's Twin Blades.

Although he himself had never practiced this mana combat technique before, the fact that it was imprinted in his memories allowed him to explain it effortlessly.

For the entirety of the day, Adam taught Raidon the basics. To the latter's credit, he learned it quite quickly, absorbing everything like a sponge. This was all thanks to the experience he'd acquired throughout his life as a warrior.

Now, Raidon was already teaching the footwork to a few men. Adam sat on a reclined wooden chair outside the training courtyard, overseeing the training with a gratified look on his face.

These guys are not so bad, after all, he thought. As expected of the elite division of Ravenfell's armed forces.

He lifted his legs on the table before him, languidly placing his hands behind his head. His gaze scanned all the men present and he nodded to himself.

It's unlikely that these guys will spy on me on behalf of Lady Benton…

His gaze then shifted to Raidon who was ruthlessly drilling the techniques into his men.

As for him, he's clean. His actions, behavior, and even subconscious emotions tell me that he greatly respects me. I doubt he's secretly working for that old hag.

It would seem that although she is suspicious of me, she hasn't involved others in it. She probably means to directly keep track of me, without keeping anyone else in the loop.

This would suggest that she believes I don't mean the city any harm. Still, she doesn't seem to be sure about it. Therefore she gave me a position as the Lord Commander of the Black Legion.

Thinking about all this, Adam couldn't help but helplessly sigh. He retrieved a large wine gourd from his earring and started drinking large mouthfuls directly from it.

She's in charge of security for the entirety of Ravenfell. Considering what happened last week with the Duskfalls, I don't blame her for being so vigilant.

His eyes narrowed into slits as he finished the entire gourd within a few minutes.

But it is going to be slightly difficult to carry out certain operations with her constantly breathing down my neck.

The youth put his feet down and stood up. He ordered a nearby Magus, "Bring my horse."

Seeing that Adam was about to leave, Raidon hurriedly approached him. "My Lord, would you like me to accompany you anywhere?"

Adam waved his hand. "No need. Make sure you and the men diligently learn the combat technique. The more you sweat on the training grounds, the less you bleed on the battlefield."

Raidon struck his chest in salute. "HOO-AAH!!"

Adam nodded then got on the horse. He soon left the Black Bastion and made his way towards the Flynn Estate in Uptown Quarter.

The rays of the setting sun cast a reddish glow on one half of his face. The other half was enveloped in an unsettling darkness.

His eyes narrowed, and a dangerous light flashed in them.

Time to put some contingency measures in place.
