‘What is this guy playing at!’ Jason raged internally, but externally he stopped his run and waited for the referee’s verdict.

Stretching his leg out to catch the ball, Reus bent his body and sent a cross into Uventus’s penalty box and into the path of a charging Haaland.
Haaland charged at the ball like a bull that couldn’t be deterred and he leaped at it with his leg outstretched, catching it mid-air and poking it past a stunned Buffon.
The ball bounced into the back of the Uventus goal without suspense and the atmosphere in the stadium visibly depressed even further.
