C49 Luan Teng
Luan Teng was a legend among sophomores at Sigu No. 1 Middle School.
His notoriety didn't stem from success; quite the opposite, he was a known failure.
He had just transferred to Sigu No. 1 Middle School during Qi Ning's sophomore year.
During military training, Luan Teng boldly proclaimed his intention to challenge all the top dogs in the school.
While the seniors were busy preparing for their college entrance exams, the sophomores enjoyed a more leisurely pace.
Luan Teng's first target was a sophomore bully.
The result was a resounding defeat for Luan Teng and his crew.
Reflecting on his defeat, Luan Teng concluded that his own strength wasn't the issue; the other guy was just too powerful.
So, he set out to rally the freshmen for a rebellion!
But before they could act, Fu Nian uncovered their plan.
With just one sentence, Fu Nian dismantled Luan Teng's coalition.
In such a situation, most would have thrown in the towel.
But not Luan Teng.
He launched another assault on the sophomore class.
His sights were set not on Fu Nian this time, but on another average thug.
Once again, Luan Teng took a beating.
When Qi Ning learned of this, he couldn't help but remark, "If he applied that determination to his studies, he might get into one of the country's top universities."
Luan Teng overheard Qi Ning's comment.
Qi Ning could faintly recall that it was a drizzly day when he was cornered on the school's rooftop by Luan Teng and his gang, leaving him bloodied.
Looking out the window, Qi Ning noted the gray, ominous sky, a harbinger of rain.
True to form, a downpour ensued after the first period.
This rain was unlike the last; it was a deluge.

Staring at the torrential rain, Qi Ning seemed lost in thought. Coming to, he gave the classmate a smile and said, "If I didn't show up, it would be a sign of disrespect."
Remembering the day Luan Teng forced him to apologize with his foot on his head, Qi Ning felt a surge of fury.
Revenge was not a matter of if, but when.
After the second period at Sigu No. 1 Middle School, Qi Ning grabbed an umbrella and made his way to the rooftop terrace.
Standing under the umbrella amidst the rooftop rain, Qi Ning cut a solitary figure.
Anyone happening upon the scene would surely have remarked with genuine awe, "He's trying to look cool!"
Qi Ning had only been on the rooftop for a short while when he heard the clamor of footsteps approaching from behind.
Turning, he saw Luan Teng at the entrance, flanked by a group of his followers.
Luan Teng paused for a moment, taken aback at the sight of Qi Ning.
Then, with a grand gesture, he strode onto the rooftop.
"I didn't expect you to have the guts to show up!" Luan Teng said to Qi Ning, his face twisted into a taunting sneer.
He truly hadn't anticipated Qi Ning's boldness.
"It looks like you really aren't afraid of dying!"
Unbeknownst to Luan Teng, Qi Ning had recently been in a scuffle with Pei Liang.
