Noah looked at Sari with a sudden wary expression, thinking he had been fooled by her innocent act — but instead, what he found left him even more confused. He had expected to see Sari with her full mischievous and sensual vibe, ready to pounce on him so they could finally do the glorious deed of Lovemaking, but instead...
Sari was blushing.
A blush so furious that Noah feared she might lose consciousness from how much blood had gathered in her face.
"Why...why are you blushing?" Noah asked, his voice full of confusion.
I mean, how dare she say such an audacious thing and still have the audacity to blush? Was she playing with him?
But Noah couldn’t be further from the truth.
"I– Uhh... did you... like it?" she asked meekly.
"I can act like that if you want a more assertive woman like my other sisters." Sari managed to utter, her face still flushed red and her heartbeat slightly fast.
And that’s when Noah finally understood. Sari was doing this because she thought he preferred a more... daring woman.
Well, it was not false. Noah indeed liked when women made the first move and went to obtain what they wanted without him asking or doing anything.
Indeed, it was true.
But Noah also didn’t mind a shy type of woman. A woman he could tease and make fun of just to see how she would start blushing and stuttering in panic. And Sari was the perfect example of such a type of woman... she was just too shy and fun to tease.
Noah smiled and closed the distance before taking her into his embrace.
"I love all my women for who they are and not for who I want them to be. So be yourself, my dear. I like you shy, I like you timid, and I like you stuttering and blushing like a schoolgirl around me." His words made Sari blush deeper as her eyes started to dart around the room, suddenly finding her own room pretty... fascinating.
Noah chuckled.
"But as you dared to utter such an audacious word, you do know you have to take responsibility, right? Especially with only a towel around your body... gods, Sari, are you doing this on purpose?" His words made Sari shudder softly in his embrace.
But not from fear or apprehension...well, maybe it was that actually,
"It’s...it’s too big." Sari said, this time looking directly into Noah’s mesmerizing eyes.
"I’ll make sure it won’t hurt, and besides, you’re strong enough to take it without a problem," he said with a faint smile.
It was the truth.
"Now?" Sari asked, her voice holding an undertone of light sexual need.
Noah chuckled and shook his head, "No. I want you to rest. I want you to take your time to process all of this and then, I will make you an Elysiari, and so an official member of our family."
"No longer will you be Sari, Selene’s silent and loyal shadow. But you, Sari Vaelgrim — the Elysiari of Stealth and wife of Noah Vaelgrim."
His lips curled upward in a delicate grin.
"Are you happy with all this?"
Sari mirrored his smile. "Yes... yes I am," she said softly, as the warm feeling inside her heart became even more pronounced.
’So, this is how being with the one you love feels like?’ she wondered inwardly with amazement.
This feeling of contentment, of happiness and peace. The knowledge of knowing you have someone who will be there every time you need him, someone who will support you, but also guide you if you ever need it, someone who can protect you.
In simpler terms, someone who loves you so much that he will do everything to cherish you in the way you deserve and protect you against everything... even your own self.
It was with such peaceful and loving thoughts, added with the environment around them being just as warm and romantic, that Sari closed her eyes and immediately fell asleep in Noah’s protective arms.
She was tired, emotionally tired. This day had been a long one, and it was the day when all her bitter feelings had finally resolved, making her feel like an entirely new person. A person who is loved and cherished.
Definitely, it was her best day.
Noah slowly got up from the ground with Sari in his arms and laid her softly on the comfortable, silky bed. He sat with his back resting against the headboard, placed her head gently on his lap, then closed his eyes while muttering:
"Have a nice sleep, my dear."

Back in the prison underground, an unexpected meeting was unfolding.
Shadeva stood in front of her siblings, her face bearing a gentle, motherly smile that just made you want to kneel down and wait obediently for an order like a good mama’s boy.
Her appearance had changed — now she was fully Vaelgrim — but to her siblings...
...it looked like betrayal.
Their hearts were beating fast with anger, and their faces held a tight and ugly frown. Mortis approached the bars of the prison and grabbed them tightly — so tightly that his knuckles turned white, and his black veins became so visible they looked like writhing serpents.
"What... what did you do? What have you become? Where are the shadows bowing in worship towards you? Where is the everpresence of Father on you, watching you?"
"Tell me... who are you? Are you our sister?" Mortis rained down question after question with a trembling voice. He was doing his best not to shout, not to cry, and not to start banging his head against the prison’s bars in madness.
His sister... his beloved sister... where did she go?
Ebony and Sylphira also mirrored his pain. Ebony’s usually composed face cracked, and a forlorn expression was plastered across it. As for Sylphira...
Sylphira was just looking blankly at Shadeva, as if not believing what was happening.
She seemed to be the most affected, even if she had the least visible reaction.
Shadeva observed all their faces with a calm gaze, then finally opened her mouth.
"Sister? Now I’m your sister? I wonder what kind of siblings would seal the only person who cared for them in all the universe, without even taking into account her feelings and free will."
Her eyes turned icy.
