Nick found it odd that the first lesson on flying actually included it but he wasn't going to complain. "Welcome to flying class , I am Rolanda Hooch the referee of quidditch here at Hogwarts outside of this class. Today we will be learning proper form for mounting and riding brooms so pay attention and do exactly as I say. First stand next to one of the brooms laid out on the ground with it on your dominant side." The professor said and the students did as instructed. "Good , now in a firm commanding tone say "up" like this." she said and demonstrated.-
Nick no sooner than had the intention to follow the instruction did the broom he choose jump into his hand like a dog eager to please. 'Avian royalty , I should have known I would probably have stupid amounts of talent in flying.' he complained mentally. The professor noticed this little event but didn't say anything and the class went on like usual. A few people managed to get their broom into their hands on the first attempt , namely Harry , Draco and Tracy. Others needed a few tries and others simply had no hope at all like , Hermione and Neville.-
Once everyone had managed to get the broom in their hands the Professor spoke again "Now that everyone has their broom in their hands mount it and then kick off hard , then wait for further instructions." she said and watched as they did so. Once again Nick didn't even need to kick off for the broom to begin rising steadily and stop three feet above the ground perfectly. Even worse is that he could tell that he didn't even need to use his hands. Once more the professor noted him though this time with a bit of a glint in her eye.-
Some of the other students got settled in the air quickly enough but poor Neville had the worst luck as not only did he get up in the air but the broom refused to stop going up. The boy fainted from the fear of heights and fell to the ground below but Nick used a quick "SPONGIFY!" to greatly lessen the impact so rather than a bad break he merely had a bad sprain in his arm. Nick's quick reaction earned Gryffindor an extra ten points from the professor before she took Neville to the hospital wing.-
Malfoy laughed once the professor was out of earshot. "Did you se his face , the great lump?" he said and a few other Slytherins joined in though some clearly wanted no part of the boys drama. "Shut up , Malfoy." snapped Parvati Patil. "Ooh , sticking up for Longbottom?" said Pansy Parkinson eager to cause trouble. "Never thought you'd like fat little cry babies Parvati." she said mockingly. Malfoy darted forward a grabbed something from the ground where Neville had fallen. "Look! It's that stupid thing Longbottom's gran sent him." he said and the Remembrall glinted in the light.-
"Give that here , Malfoy." Harry said firmly. "Come and get it Potter!" Malfoy said before shooting off into the air on his broom. Harry immediately went to chase but Hermione called out anxiously "Don't do it we'll all get in trouble!" She yelled but Harry ignored her and launching into the air after Malfoy. Everyone watched as the two boys flew through the air with words being said between them , though no one knew what they were. Clearly though Harry said something that scared Malfoy as the boy threw the Remembrall and retreated to the ground while Harry chased the small orb.-
He caught it right before one of the winder higher up the castle that Nick knew for a fact was McGonagall's office. Shortly after that the elderly witch stormed into the area angrily and snatched up Harry with a stern expression while Malfoy had a sneer on his face. Nick held his broom tightly and wanted to hex the boy but knew better. The broom in Nick's hand however seemed to pick up on his hostility and shot out of his hand directly into Malfoy's nose with a sickening "CRACK!" breaking it and knocking him out.-
Everyone looked at Nick in surprise but he showed that he didn't even have his wand in his hand "Broom malfunction" he said and everyone believed him since they saw Neville's broom also malfunction. Blood was pouring out of Malfoys nose as Madam hooch came back making her question everyone what happened and when she heard the same thing from everyone's mouth she gave Nick a deep look before dragging Malfoy to the hospital wing to join Neville. "Be honest did you do that to Malfoy on purpose?" Tracy asked in a hushed tone. Nick shook his head "I seriously didn't , not that I'm going to complain about the malfunction." he said honestly since it surprised him too.
