Chapter 28: Feisty
"You... what are you doing here?" Kathy stuttered in surprise.
The man turned to look at her, a sweet smile forming on his lips, "glad to see that you recognize me." He grinned showing off his perfect looking white set of teeth.
"You are yet to answer my previous question, what are you doing here? Don’t tell me you followed me all the way here?" Kathy looked at the man shocked, she had met the man in the art gallery. Kathy thought as the memories of their very first encounter slowly flooded in her mind.

"My lady... you dropped something?" A deep and masculine voice said to her, Kathy was making her way back to meet Serena after she had finish cleaning the stain from her dress, she had heard this voice. She turned around on her heels to meet the owner of the voice, she was met with a sharp eyes that were looking down at her curiously. There was something peculiar with the way he looked at her, a deep darkness lingered in his dark eyes.
Caspian raised his hand that held her kerchief, and Kathy’s brown doe eyes looked up at his raised hand only to realize that truly it was her kerchief. She was quite surprised that he now held the handkerchief she had been holding all this while.
Since she was in a hurry Kathy did not bother placing too much thought on it, as she thought she might have dropped it by mistake. Kathy offered Caspian a small smile, ""thank you. Kathy said, those words of gratitude to him, she leaned closer to him as she stretched her hand to accept the kerchief from him."
He saw how her body had come closer to take the handkerchief which he had pulled out of her hand when she was rushing to head back inside the art gallery.
Caspian looked at the human, she was catchy, he thought. He had been studying her since she entered the art exhibition with Serena, she had catch his eyes. He could not deny the fact that she is beautiful. Some men in the event had been looking her way, wanting to talk to her but it seems they had been reciting with themselves how they would ask her, but he does not need to recite his words since he knew he was a smooth talker and no girl ever turned him down.
Caspian smiled, "you seem to be in a hurry?"
"Huh?... I’m in a hurry to meet my friend, she must be worried about me." Kathy said and noticed the way his head tilted to the side.
Caspian suddenly stepped closer to her, "this your friend, is it a she or a he?" He asked, ignoring the fact that she had addressed the person as a she. He knew what he was doing, he was just trying to stall for time to stop her from going to meet Serena as his king was currently busy with her.
Kathy didn’t know what this man actually wanted, she tried to read his expression, his eyes appeared to be looking dauntingly at her. Yes he was very attractive but right now, she was not in the mood to entertain any man since her mind was on Serena and how she was faring all by herself. She thought.
Kathy stepped closer to him, she leaned her body sexily towards him as she whispered very close to his ear, "what if it’s a he?" Kathy stepped away from him to observe his face.
Caspian looked at her his expression softened up just a bit as he wondered to himself, interesting. She is a feisty one, Caspian likes that very much.
"It’s up to you to define if he is your partner or just your friend." Caspian said, playfully his smile reaching his eyes this time.
"Oh I see... Kathy muttered, "enough with me, what about you did you come with a partner." Kathy swiftly diverted the question back to him.
"I don’t have a partner. Will you do me the honor of becoming my partner?" Kathy looked at him sharply, is he trying to mess with me or what?
"Unfortunately I can’t, I came with a partner tonight." She said, and made a sunken face as she tried to leave the place, usually she would love to play with this handsome man but today is about Serena, and she was alone waiting for her in the hall. She could not possibly have fun with this man without worrying about her.
"I see..." was all Caspian said, "before you go do tell me your name?" Caspian asked one last time.
"Isn’t it proper etiquette to only ask for someone’s name after giving yours?" Kathy said with her lips tilted upwards mockingly but she still went on to give him her name. "My name is Kathrine Smith."
"Kathrine." The sound of her name rolled off from his lips breathlessly as if saying a chant. Kathy waited for him to tell her his name.
"I’m Caspian Finch, but you can call me anything you want." Caspian said, flirting as he winked at her.
"Okay baby, but I really have to go now." Kathy gave him a sexy wet look as she blew him a mocking raspberry before leaving the place to meet up with Serena, she had been gone for a long time. She thought to herself, Kathy mentally berated herself for talking to him for so long when Serena was alone by herself.
