Chapter 6: I think I found the one
"Why haven’t you been picking up your damn phone, Rena? Do you know how worried I was when I could not reach you yesterday, I had to bloody call your damn office and they told me you already went home, you know I can’t call your grandparents because I don’t want to worry them as well." Kathy rambled on,
"If not for the fact that I was calling and calli- Serena quickly hugged her making her stop mid-sentence because she knows if she does not stop her now, Kathy will continue blabbering on without giving her the chance to talk and explain herself .
"I’m fine Kathy, I know you must have been worried and it was not my intentions, I was just not in the right frame of mind yesterday." Serena explained to her, as she made her sit on her sofa in her room.
"Reasons why you should have picked the god damn phone Renie, I should have been there for you." She said almost frustrated now.
"I’m sorry Kathy." Serena said with her puppy eyes. Kathy eventually gave up.
"You know I can’t say or do anything when you give me those eyes." She said pouting.
"Okay, enough with that where did you say you went to again? OMG Rena, why would you go to that kind of a place without my proper guidance." Did you even know your way around there and how did you get there in the first place?"
"Chill, I think I found the one." Serena said blushing successfully diverting Kathy’s attention from her going to a bar alone.
"What do you mean you found the one?"
"I don’t know, but it seems like it. Kathy you needed to have seen him, he is perfect, you know what I have been looking for all along, I just need to confirm a few things." Serena said almost dreamily.
"O.M.G." Kathy stressed each of the word as she almost choked on her own saliva "don’t tell me... She pause as she looked Serena over before she finished her sentence "don’t tell me you have done the deed now, my Renie is no longer a virgin, I’m so happy for you." Kathy gasp with her hands on her mouth, her eyes was wide open in disbelief.
"Calm down Kathy, nothing of such happened yesterday."
"Oh!" Serena’s response made Kathy pout but she was quick to bounce back to being excited"So, who was this man that manage to capture my dear Renie’s heart, that no man has ever done."
"Hmmm... that’s the problem, I don’t know his name, in fact I don’t know anything about him." Serena said sadly.
"How do you intend to find him then, if you had known his name or something I would have had my dad’s personal aide search for him."
"I don’t know Kathy but I believe if it was meant to be I would see him again, then I would know for sure that it’s fate, when it does happen I will not let him go." Serena replied her determinedly.
"Either way Renie, I’m so happy for you, you should not let anything weigh you down and just live your life."
Serena smiled at her, her ever resilient kathy, she thought.
"We actually kissed last night at the bar." Serena whispered shyly her voice barely audible with her head casted downwards.
"Wow! I need details girl, tell me how was your first kiss, spill the tea." Kathy was so excited.
That is the thing with Kathy, one minute she is worried the next she is back to her usual self, she is always so extra with everything and she has a very vibrant personality that draws people in. She has a thing when she calls me Rena anytime she is not please with me and calls me Renie when she is happy.
"It was actually so good, I almost did not want it to end, I did not know a kiss was supposed to feel that good."
"Oh my, my innocent bun is finally heeding to my advice."
"But then he turned around and said I was not the one for him." And he left me there even when I asked him to be my company just like you adviced.
Kathy brows lifted, she was suddenly overwhelmed with anger "How dare he?" How dare he reject my innocent Renie." Kathy exclaimed as she stood up from where she had been sitting.
"Hold on, you said you told him what I told you to say and he still refused, most men that I know will certainly jump at the very opportunity if a girl ever told them that, maybe he is a pretty decent man and does not want to take advantage of you, now I wish you had asked for his card before you told him that." Kathy said with a small pout but she was quick to bounce back to her excited self and told her,
"Either way Renie, I’m so proud of you." Kathy said with her thumbs up, Serena could not help smiling shyly.
"I believe I would see him again." Serena muttered to herself.
"What do you plan on doing today? Will you be going to the children’s shelter?" Kathy asked.
"Yes, I’ll be going now, I just had my breakfast."
"Let’s go then." Kathy replied her.
