The explanation from the game was that after evolving into a demon, the plant had been filled with demonic energy that made it much stronger. But that also meant that it was harder for it to reproduce since the demonic energy was so strong.
This was even more so the case once it became the demon king.
So in its life, it had only had one offspring which was this strange plant in front of me.
The problem was that everyone knew about this and had been searching for the last descendant of that plant demon king. After all, they thought that this last descendant would have some kind of special power that they could absorb.
That was why this strange plant had been hiding for so long.
Once the roots of the strange plant were trapped, it was simple for me to pull it out of the ground.
Since I had put arrays that trapped the roots on the items that I left on the ground, I could naturally also control them. That was why with a single flick of my finger, the items started to move away from where the roots came from.
This was the completely opposite direction of where the strange plant was.
The goal was to pull the strange plant out of the ground after trapping its roots .
When it felt that it was being pulled, the strange plant's roots naturally did what it could do to resist. To do that, it started pulling its roots back as hard as it could to get away from the items.
But eventually it stopped pulling since it could tell that it would have ripped its roots apart if it kept pulling.
The demonic energy that kept its roots stuck on these items was just too strong, so the strange plant really couldn't do anything other than relax its pull.
However, it also noticed that if it didn't do anything soon, it would be pulled out of the ground.
The strange plant just couldn't let that happen, so it had no choice but to try and break its roots to free itself.
I had expected this, so I had already prepared a countermeasure.
There were more items that suddenly came out of the ground and wrapped around the roots of the strange plant. When these items wrapped around the roots, they did the same thing as the bait that I laid.
There was this demonic energy that came out of these items and stuck them to the roots.
With these items stuck, the strange plant really couldn't do anything other than let itself be pulled out. After all, if it destroyed its roots , then it wouldn't be able to sustain itself anymore.
There were only so many roots that the strange plant could destroy.
After the strange plant was pulled out of the ground, its true appearance was revealed.
It was a strange appearance that it had in the shape of a human, but one could tell by looking closely that it wasn't human. Rather, there were these obvious plant parts that were on this strange plant.
It was a ginseng that had turned into a demon.
Once it was pulled out of the ground, I didn't hesitate to go forward to catch it.
The demon ginseng panicked when it saw me appear and it didn't hesitate to suddenly blow out at me.
It didn't seem like there was anything released by the demon ginseng, but I knew that this wasn't the case.
However, I didn't do anything as I let the thing that it blew out hit me head on.
Once it hit me, the demon ginseng looked a bit relieved since it thought that it was safe now. Only that thought was quickly shattered as I took a step forward as if I wasn't affected by the breath that it blew at me at all.

Tempest gathered a bunch of skills from different monsters and among them were resistance skills. These were passive skills that gave the user resistance to things that would cause status effects.
What the demon ginseng was doing was releasing poison pollen that would cause these status ailments.
Only my passive resistance skills allowed me to avoid being hit with these status effects.
Or it was better to say that I resisted them all with my resistance skills.
But if the demon ginseng was older…then there was no doubt that I would have fallen for its status effects with my current resistance skills.
That in itself was amazing since I had resistance skills that no single person should have. These were minor resistances, but I had skills that allowed me to resist most of the main status effects.
After walking through the demon ginseng's poison pollen, I went forward to grab it and pull it out of the ground before saying, "Do you want to come with me? If you do, I'll guarantee that you'll be able to eat all kinds of delicious things."
The moment that the demon ginseng heard this, it seemed like it had let down its guard once more. It seemed like I was getting through to the demon ginseng with these words.
But this felt like I was tricking a child with candy, which was a feeling that I didn't want to feel.
In the end, the demon ginseng didn't seem like it wanted to follow me even though I was offering these delicious things.
