With this Elder Rohice leading the way, it didn’t take long for us to arrive at the Verdant Forest.
As soon as he took the branch from the Tree of Life, it immediately started showing the way.
When the two high elf girls saw this, there were embarrassed looks that appeared on their faces.
They should have been the ones that led the way, but they didn’t know how to use the branch from the Tree of Life. So that was why the elder had to take over for them.
They did try to explain why they didn’t know, but I didn’t make it too hard for them.
The most important thing was getting to the Verdant Forest as soon as possible.
When we arrived, I had to act like I was surprised by the Verdant Forest even if it wasn’t my first time seeing it. I had already seen it before as a cutscene in the game and explored many parts of this place.
Though I had to admit that I was a bit surprised by the scene in front of me.
Even if I had seen it before, it was seen through the screen.
It was completely different seeing it in person with the trees all around me.
This really was a beautiful place.
Once we arrived, there was a group that came forward to greet us.
I could feel the same familiar feeling from them that I felt from the other three high elves.
The one that led this group was a kind looking young woman, but the way that she acted made it clear that she wasn’t that young. Her actions betrayed her age even before she said anything.
But at the same time, I was a bit excited to see her.
After all, she was considered quite the famous character in the game.
"Welcome to the Verdant Forest, I’m the chief here." She said with a serious look on her face, but that serious look quickly disappeared before she said with a smile, "That’s too serious even for me. This is the kind of welcome that you’re looking for."
She turned to look at the two high elf girls and waved her hand at them.
When they saw her waving her hand , the two of them didn’t hesitate to go over to her side where she took them in her arms and hugged them tight.
"I’m glad that you’re safe."
The two of them just buried their heads in her chest which was quite plentiful.
Even Nimue who was stronger than Rania seemed vulnerable at this moment.
After the three of them had their moment, the chief let them go and patted them on the head before turning to look at me.
After looking at me, she suddenly bowed before saying, "Thank you for saving these two."
I just waved my hand before saying, "It’s fine. We’re all from the same race, so we should look out for each other."
The chief looked back up at me with a smile while shaking her head before saying, "Still, it’s a fact that you saved the two of them and that’s not something that we can thank you enough for."
After saying this, she turned around and waved her hand for us to follow her before leading the way into the forest.
With her leading the way, it didn’t take us long to arrive at the city of the elves.
Unlike the humans that lived in a city of stone and wood, the elves lived among nature. They created houses out of trees and lived in them, so this was a completely different kind of architecture.
The elves didn’t seem afraid of outsiders at all as they all greeted us as we walked by.
But it wasn’t just that.
I could see the way that they looked at us and the sensation that came from them.
It wasn’t just high elves that lived in this Verdant Forest, there were normal elves that lived here too. After all, it wasn’t as if there were that many high elves that were in this world.
At the same time, it was clear the kind of respect that the elves had for high elves.
Of course, there was a good reason for this since the high elves were the progenitor of elves and the higher evolution of elves. To become a high elf was something that most elves dreamed of.
"Little brother, if you have time, you should come and visit big sister one day."
"Little brother, let big sister show you around the Verdant Forest."
"Little brother, don’t be shy."
The other source of pride that they could obtain was to give birth to a high elf child.
When Nimue and Rania saw this, the two of them seemed like they wanted to chase off these female elves. But they were held back by the chief of the Verdant Forest in the end.
Of course, it wasn’t as if I was that easy to call out to either.
With the chief leading the way, it didn’t take us long to arrive at a large tree that was at the center of the Verdant Forest. However, this wasn’t the tree that I was looking for, this was just a normal tree.
The one that I was looking for was much more special than this and would release a large amount of nature energy.
If it was the Tree of Life, than this place would have been completely overrun with plants.
This was just the place where the chief and the elders of the Verdant Forest met to decide things.
When we entered the tree, we were brought to a meeting room that was at the center of it.
Once we arrived, the chief and the elders all sat down and took their places.
As for us, we were made to stand in the center where they were all looking at us.
"So I’m curious about one thing, what do you plan to do now?"
