Charlotte’s pupils contracted for a moment as she looked at Edward Stephens. The man’s dark eyes were filled with cold murderous intent.

"Sir asked me to come back to request your return home," Charlotte looked up at him, speaking softly, "Second Master, you’ve been away from home for a year. Mr. Stephens misses you a lot."
"I don’t want to hurt Second Master, nor do I want to hurt Miss Ginger," Charlotte’s tone softened even further as she looked at Edward, "Now, the best choice is for Second Master to divorce Miss Ginger. You know very well she never needed you."
Edward’s pupils contracted slightly as his hand on the steering wheel gradually clenched.
"... If you don’t stop in time, Second Master, you’ll regret it sooner or later." Charlotte lowered her head, her tone becoming more humble and respectful. Yet the words she spoke were increasingly hard to accept, "Sir asked me to come and invite you home. If you don’t return soon, he might come to get you himself."
Edward looked straight ahead, "If everyone’s feelings were as easy as yours to let go and take back, perhaps there would be fewer marriages in this world."
