She hated him to death.
Hated him so much she almost wanted to kill.
Thinking about how she was unknowingly manipulated to this point, like a frog being boiled, ending up pregnant with a child that never should have existed.
She couldn’t accept it.

She was nothing more than a pet dog kept in the manor, taken out for walks when he was pleased and locked away when he wasn’t, unable to go anywhere.
She cried in anger, her heart filled with indescribable fear and despair, unable to understand how she had let herself get to this state.
Edward couldn’t bear to see her cry, he turned slightly and looked out the window.

He didn’t need her to embrace him now; a life so long awaited them, with him and the child, she wouldn’t be able to leave.
It was indeed inhumane, even despicable, but against a woman like Daisy Ginger, gentleness and consideration were meaningless.
He didn’t want to become another Ethan Pond, watching over her while she held another man in her heart, pretending to be friends.
"If you don’t want to see me, I’ll hire a nurse for you."
Finally, the man spoke coldly from the window.
But the content of his words, though tender, still left her no room for refusal.
"You’re already two months pregnant, don’t move around recklessly, the fetus is unstable, if you accidentally miscarry," he paused here, turning his head to look at Daisy Ginger’s face, "having another one later might be unbearable for you."
The last sentence made Daisy’s expression subtly contort for a moment.
She lifted her head, her voice hoarse as she asked him, "Edward Stephens, what do you take me for?"
The man stood by the bed, his profile cold, voice calm: "Daisy Ginger, we must have a child between us."
He needed a bond to keep them connected, something that would make escaping impossible in any crowd.
