The trip for the next production shift led them to a small bar that had been rented from a local in town. Everyone gathered for a walkthrough where they would discuss how the case had been won and how they would approach the upcoming results.

Kevin, lost in thought, watches the others drink.
REPORTER: So, Kev, off the record—how does it feel to get a guy like Gettys through the door of reasonable doubt?
MARY ANN: No. (Gesturing for the reporter to leave.) I already told you, we’re not talking about that damn case anymore. It’s done.” (Turning to Kevin.) “Right?
Mary Ann pulls her husband close, reading to him. He has no desire to talk about problems. She pours random drinks while the group unwinds.
KEVIN: I’ll drink to that. (As he does.)No business talk. You heard the lady—I can’t say no when she’s this persistent.
Tequila keeps flowing as the night goes on.
MARY ANN: Sweetheart, have another drink.
Billy feels the liquor burn down his throat as he moves onto the dance floor, two more shots in hand. Charlize leans in and kisses him. It’s not in the script, but Billy kisses her back, holding onto her waist.
Two extra beats, then they dance off toward a distant bar for the next take.
INT. FLORIDA NIGHTCLUB – MEN’S ROOM
Drunken fraternity guys laugh as they stumble out. A bar band plays faintly in the background. Kevin finishes at the urinal and heads to the sink when he suddenly stops. He freezes.
A mirror above the sink.

HEATH (O.S.): Mr. Lomax?
Kevin turns. Leamon Heath stands beside him.
HEATH: Fantastic work today. (Quickly handing over a business card.) I didn’t want to interrupt your celebration.
KEVIN: Milton, Chadwick, Waters. Never heard of it. (Looking up.) What’s this? You gonna sue me?
HEATH: Actually, we were hoping to hire you. We’ve been following your career.
HEATH You’ve never lost a case.
KEVIN, I’ve had sympathetic juries.HEATH That’s exactly what we’re looking for. We want you to come to New York. Help us pick a jury.
KEVly? (Now amused.) I gotta say, man—you’re pretty good. The card is nice. And the whole ‘Black guy recruiting another Black guy’ angle... was that Paul’s idea? Because that’s just brilliant.

HEATH You’d start next week.
(Waiting as Kevin pauses.) All expenses covered. First-class travel, luxury accommodations. You and your wife. A single payment, regardless of the verdict, for the sum of, well...
(Handing him a check.)

It’s 10:30 PM. They’ve spent four hours shooting in the bar, and they’re finally done.
Billy dances with Charlize in a corner. He’s got liquor in his system, though he doesn’t show it. Charlize, on the other hand, is visibly a mess.
Sighing deeply, they dance another round before Billy guides her to her dressing room. The blonde mumbles something about being completely drained.
-Rest, -Billy murmurs before heading to his trailer.
