The shadow's voice softened. "Then face your fears, confront the darkness within." Suddenly, the shadow exploded from the well, enveloping the square in darkness. Out of the shadows emerged creatures, twisted and malformed, ancient soldiers turned into nightmarish forms by the curse.

"Damien!" she cried, as the light engulfed the square, pushing back the darkness. The creatures writhed, their forms melting into the ground, vanquished by the amulet's power.
