Rows upon rows of ancient books lined towering shelves, stretching so high that the upper levels disappeared into the gloom. Dust particles hung in the air, caught in the faint glow of floating orbs of light that hovered between the shelves.
"This is... unexpected," Shadow murmured, her voice echoing faintly.
Rook held up a hand to silence the team, his sharp gaze scanning the room. "Unexpected, but not safe. Stay alert."
Ghost moved ahead silently, his footsteps barely a whisper against the stone floor. "This place feels alive," he said, running a hand across a shelf. "These books… they're whispering."
The rest of the team exchanged uneasy glances. Viper stepped closer to one of the shelves, her fingers tracing the spines of the books. "This isn't just a library. It's a vault of knowledge—old, forbidden knowledge."
Bulwark snorted, gripping his weapon tightly. "Great. A haunted library. Just what we needed."
As they ventured deeper, the room seemed to stretch endlessly, the layout shifting subtly with each step. What appeared to be a straight path moments ago now curved, leading them deeper into the labyrinth.

"It's not just a feeling," Rook said grimly. He pointed to a shadow in the corner—a figure cloaked in black, its face obscured by a hood.
The figure moved, gliding silently between the shelves, disappearing from sight.
"Contact!" Rook barked, raising his weapon.
The team formed a defensive circle, their eyes scanning the darkness. The orbs of light began to dim, one by one, casting the library into an oppressive gloom.

Reaching the pedestal, Viper hesitated for only a moment before placing her hands on the tome. A shockwave of energy burst from the book, sending her flying backward and extinguishing the remaining orbs of light.

"What did you do?" Shadow asked, helping Viper to her feet.
