The docks were eerily silent except for the faint creak of rusted ships swaying in the water. The fog clung to the ground like a living entity, masking the shadows that seemed to move just out of sight. The faint glow of zombie eyes occasionally pierced the mist, sending chills down the spines of the ZETU team.
"We're sitting ducks here," Riley whispered from her perch atop a shipping container, her sniper rifle ready. "Too much open space, too many blind spots."
"Agreed," Marcus muttered, gripping his shotgun tightly. "Brain, can you get us any intel from the drones?"
Ethan's voice crackled over the comms. "Still no visuals. Whatever's in that fog is jamming the signal. I'm working on recalibrating, but you're on your own for now."
Marcus swore under his breath. "Alright, we move cautiously. Stay close and cover each other. Huntress, take point."
Lila nodded, her dual pistols at the ready as she advanced into the thick fog. Her sharp eyes scanned every shadow, every flicker of movement. Behind her, Derek's riot shield scraped against the ground as he prepared to block any ambushes.
A sudden splash echoed from the water, followed by a low growl. The team froze, their weapons aimed at the sound.
"What was that?" Jenna whispered, her flamethrower nozzle aimed toward the docks.
The growl grew louder, and from the shadows emerged a monstrous figure—a hulking zombie with grotesque, mutated arms dragging along the ground. Its glowing eyes locked onto the team, and with a guttural roar, it charged.
"Titan inbound!" Marcus shouted, opening fire.
Riley's sniper rifle rang out, her first shot striking the Titan's shoulder. The creature barely flinched as it barreled toward them. Derek stepped forward, bracing his shield against the impact as the Titan slammed into him, sending him skidding backward.
"Blaze, light it up!" Marcus yelled.
Jenna unleashed a stream of fire, engulfing the Titan in flames. It roared in pain, swiping blindly at the team. Lila darted to its side, firing precise shots into its joints. The creature faltered but didn't fall.
"We need more firepower!" Riley called out, loading another round into her rifle.
Suddenly, a chorus of groans rose from the fog as dozens of zombies emerged, drawn by the noise. The team found themselves surrounded.
"Hold the line!" Marcus ordered, blasting two zombies with his shotgun.
Riley picked off zombies from her perch while Jenna alternated between torching the horde and keeping the Titan at bay. Derek swung his baton, taking down any zombies that slipped past the flames.
"Captain!" Lila shouted. "There's a crane ahead! If we can lure the Titan underneath, I can drop the cargo on it!"
"Do it!" Marcus replied, covering her as she sprinted toward the crane.
Lila climbed the structure swiftly, her breath visible in the cold air. Below, the team fought to keep the Titan and the horde distracted.
As the Titan staggered into position, Lila released the crane's lever. A massive steel container plummeted from above, crushing the Titan with a deafening crash.
The remaining zombies hesitated, then collapsed as the fog began to dissipate.
"Nice work," Marcus said, helping Derek to his feet.
"It's not over," Lila said, gazing at the distant water where ripples spread ominously.
Something else was coming.
